Sparkle Announces First Single Slot GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Card
SPARKLE Computer Co., Ltd., the professional VGA card manufacturer and supplier, today announced latest addition with one slot cooling solution to its GeForce GTS 450 series graphics cards, fitting the mainstream users' lifestyle with compact design.
One of the World's first GeForce GTS 450 graphics cards with one-slot cooling design with 2 heatpipes with copper fins, meeting the mainstream users' requirement for compact design. It use the premium 7010 centrifugal fan design featuring greater air volume to take the heat away and lower the temperature rapidly. The cooling fan has the speed modulation mechanism, so that the working noise will not be maintained at the full speed level, and this mechanism can increase the fan's life.Advanced Rendering Architecture
Using NVIDIA's next generation GF106 chip architecture. The SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards can dynamically allocates 3D processing power to geometry, vertex, physics, or pixel shading operations, delivering up to 2x the gaming performance of prior generation GPUs. Thanks to technologies such as NVIDIA Lumenex Engine, SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards support DirectX 11, Shader Model 5.0, NVIDIA Quantum Effects technology for physics computation and GigaThread Technology for extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs.
NVIDIA CUDA Technology With 192 cores CUDA C/C++ Support and 32 Texture Units
CUDA technology unlocks the power of the SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards' 192 processor cores to accelerate the most demanding system tasks such as video transcoding. The 32 Texture Units embedded in the GF106 can dramatically improve the texture processing efficient in latest DirectX 11 games, resulting in higher fps than the competitor's products.
Dominate Next generation DirectX 11 Gaming
Tessellation- one of the biggest new features of Microsoft DirectX11, helps the SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards to treat your eyes to incredible visual details without sacrificing frame rates. With more geometry processing power, get incredibly detailed characters, terrain and game environments - all with blazing fast performance. The SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards aslo bring stunning gaming effects with cutting-edge Microsoft DirectX 11 graphics and NVIDIA PhysX technology take gaming to a new level.
Expect The Fastest Performance with Overclocking Features
The SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards are overclocked out of box with 789MHz core speed, 3760MHz memory speed and 1579MHz shader clock. Compared with ordinary GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards on market, SPARKLE slightly enhanced the performance of the SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Graphics Cards for mainstream gamers to enjoy better value for money.

If it is all copper underneath that shroud then temps shouldn't be too bad, the fan does look a little small still.
Maybe it could be because they don't produce a lot of heat anyways i'm guessing.
I like how it only takes up one slot but with graphics cards these days generating so much heat you really need them to exhale heat by themselves. Otherwise you will need to add more fans to move air out of your system.
Put it at the other end damn it! Then it goes with the airflow of most cases. Then if you put it in an mini-ITX case with a single slot, if there is a little vent the hot air gets exhausted out that little vent.
Nice looking card btw
Lastly, of course if the fan fails on this card it'll overheat. What do you expect to happen with the dual slot coolers??? The same exact thing.
And I do like how Galaxy is going for some non-standard designs. Even if the single slot design sucks at least the option is out there for someone who doesn't mind noise.
with a card like this, in terms of graphical horsepower and even power useage, I think they could easily make them pci-e 4x, and retain 90+% of the performance (hec a 5870 showed us it was able to deliver ~95% of it's 16x performance @ 4x). making them 4x but obviously still compatible with 16x slots, to me, makes the card more attractive as a seconary monitor/folding/physx/whatever card in your mobo's 4x slots, if there are any. Not to mention they need ever so slightly less PCB and copper connections :)
and lastly, I want AMD to attack the GTS450's pricepoint sooner rather than later, and get them to force Nvidia's hand on unlocking GF106's true potential, which I believe to be 25-50% faster than what we see now, at the same clockspeeds, given it can pick up another 50% memory bus and ROPS... this would be a GTX260/4870 killer in that trim IMO.
This one's made by Sparkle, bud.
There is no excuse for fan placement on the graphics card that causes worse airflow by going against the general airflow of the case. The placement of this fan does not effect the fact that the heat is generally still dumped in the case and needs to be exhausted, so insinuating that we are bitching because we have bad case airflow is foolish.
I still might buy it tho, thats the perfect sizee for a 450, so depending on the price i guess. For a card like that, that size, it should cost about 129.
And chances are the heatsink on this card will be made of copper instead of aluminum like the dual slot cards, which will cool the card a lot better.
