Diablo 3 Open Beta Weekend Starts Today
Today Shacknews is reporting that Diablo III will be open to the public for beta testing. The open beta weekend begins this afternoon at 12:01pm Pacific, then will run until 10:00am on Monday, Blizzard explains in a Diablo blog post. All you need to play is a Battle.net account. You can download the client in advance, so you don't miss a second. The beta is relatively small, packing the first part of Diablo III's first act, but you will be playing Diablo III. Unlike proper closed beta testers, open beta players won't receive 'Beta Bucks' to spend in the auction house and cannot post in the beta forums.
Diablo III launches for PC and Mac on May 15. The closed beta test will wrap up on May 1.

No doubt, after this weekend is over, I'll probably play through D2 again waiting for the 15th.
We were originally going to buy Res Evil: Operation Raccoon City to get our coop fix, but this is 1000000000x better.
There are so many annoying things that are conservatively retained from previous Diablos.
The item management is one, It does not even sort itself out, it still has a 1 and 2 slot system. The items are not clearly highlighted when dropped, and you can't manually highlight it.
The Torchlight pet system is so much cooler as you can ask the pet to go back to town and sell items while you continue to charge into enemy territory.
The theme is still dark and quite difficult to see. Why? I know it is meant to be "EVIL" but no need to hide so much. Torchlight has the same theme but they made it look more refreshing.
The camera is completely restricted! WHY? The way they've restricted the camera, it is no different from a 2D scrolling game. I think this is the most unforgivable restriction.
Why multiplay coop is restricted to a max of 4 players only?
Those complaints aside. The skill tree has been overhauled, now there is no need to commit into a skill as you can swap around anytime. This is a great thing.
My fav character is the monk. Great hands on attack, flash like instant travel and healing ability.
Finally, Blizzard deliberately limit the leveling up to 13. Kinda expected.
We'll ignore all the previously posted issues with Blizz and D3.
