No, absolutely not! Use one of the other 15 NZXT cases that do have a 5.25" bay and stop trying to push your optical agenda on the rest of us! We only have around 15 cases from all manufacturers combined that are suitable for our bay-less lifestyle.

The majority of users don't use their DVD drive for anything other than installing the OS and many people don't even have an ODD and install using a USB drive. This case is for the people who don't want an optical drive and would rather take that space in the top front and dedicate it to more airflow or larger water cooling radiators rather than having an empty 5.25" cage.

Maybe its just me but compared to the normal pricing of an H440 this seems a tad bit more expensive for what basically amounts to as some LED logos. Its not that much different from a standard H440 and basically is just a bunch of LED lights added with some different colors in certain areas which do look nice but makes the price seem a bit ridiculous in the end. But I guess its not for me...

I think they make a good many nice cases. I've never seen the view of "they don't make clean cases" Just from NZXT alone you get a few nice aesthetics.



Some would even fit in at an office.

true - but the majority of users also only have one mid range video card and hard drive/ssd, in that case why would you need such a gigantic case?

All the games out are console ports anyways and anyone who bought a 670 two years ago is still maxing out at 1080P on proc tech thats 2 years old and will still be fine when broadwell comes out since they are focusing on perf/watt.

Basically the age of water-cooled massive power rigs just so you can run oblivion at 60 fps have come to an end, so with the exception of a few users with SLI/cfx/surround setups this case is a total waste of money,

If they release a micro or mini itx one it might be good though - but for that size and price they might as well include a floppy just in case.

Why not just keep a USB external optical drive at hand like me when you actually just use it twice a year?

Having an ODD around is important for when you need it, but that's getting less and less frequent IMO. Just redid a build with a different color scheme of the 440 and find it to be a fantastic case. Cable management, airflow, build quality are all nice, and it looks great. The SSD trays stand out a bit if you don't have them both in use (guess I need another SSD! :D), but otherwise I find it to be wonderfully minimalist and functional.
