BYKSKI Releases Radeon RX 480 Water Block

Bykski, known as one of the biggest water block provider in China, releases the water block for AMD RX480 graphics cards, named Bykski A-RX480-X. The Bykski A-RX480-X is made of cooper of the base and designed as a full cover water block, and all the surface is nickel plated for anti-oxidation treatment. It provides direct cooling not only for the GPU, but also for RAM. And the transparent acrylic cover allows users to watch inside of the water flow. The tube connectors of the water block can be reverse installed for CrossFire. The water block will be on sale for both official online store and regions with BYKSKI distributors, the suggested retail price is $99 USD.

They aren't cooling the VRM's, and not only that but they are covering them with this block too? Is it just me, or is that really going to limit OC potential?

It's a noisy hot card - it will be great under water.

EDIT: and I dont mean that as an insult - I love water :rockout:

Looks like perspex that covers that area to me.

EDIT:
But looking at the card again it does cover them just about with 2 screw holes to make sure of good contact.

I couldn't tell if that portion was water cooled or not but on second look, it looks like it is

well, for the reference card i would agree(though its not budget oriented), but for the non-ref cards i dont see the point.
also as for the "hot" its not hotter than the competition..

If non-ref have different PCB, it won't fit. This will be for reference PCB only.

I would take a European block over a Chinese one any day.
All the video cards on the market are made in China. Once the price threshold is met, made in China stuff can also have impeccable quality.

i dont think many companies will go for a different pcb design since it would up the cost and this is a purely budget oriented card. but thats beside the point, imo the people that will buy this card can make do even with the reference cooler.

I suppose. The one option would be a good mini ITX build with some clever water cooling installed. Make a decent HTPC for media and gaming. Cheaper than Nano but good for HD.

thats the most rational scenario in my mind also. but again a niche market, if those wb's went for like 50$(which i think the chinese can manage) that would be awesome. water-cooling to the masses.. :D

Decent quality? Yes. Impeccable? In china? uh, no. Have you ever seen a video of a german car bearing vs a chinese one. 4 - 5 times less friction. If video cards were made in Japan or Germany video card companies wouldn't need RMA departments.

We're not talking about a car bearing here, it's a block of copper, you don't need 4-5 times less friction or solid chokes and Japanese caps on it. My point is, you get what you pay for, all these cheap crap made in China, the majority of the case it's because of course, the cheap price.

Realistically China could churn out a few hundred copper blocks and sell them for $20 each due to labour costs.
It doesn't take much to mill out a few bits from a block and put a couple of threads in for fittings.

Don't you think they will also start to be quite expensive.
Manufacturing costs are main factor why china is there in first place.

I noticed that too, but I guess they know the ref card isn't quite the overclocker.
