Gigabyte Readying RTX 2080 Gaming OC White Edition Graphics Card

Even as our very own review of Gigabyte's RTX 2080 Gaming OC is hot from the presses and still carries that sweet, new-graphics-card aura, the company is readying a new, white version of the card. This will certainly appeal for users that are increasingly tired of black and red color schemes - it basically has a (255, 255, 255) skin.

The graphics card should be an exact, bit-to-bit duplicate of the original Gaming OC and its technologies and ports, so if you want to know exactly what you're getting into, read on here. If you want an all-black design, though, stick with GALAX - Gigabyte are sticking with their black printed circuit boards.

Vayra86Black fans. Fail
It is all about the contrary color. Plus once RGB kicks in who cares about the rest?

Fail, as in E.P.I.C.....

why call it a friggin "white" edition if all the plastic parts are NOT the same friggin color..... I just don't understand :(

maybe it's the extra $.0000126481 worth of pigment it would take to do 3 fan blades, maybe, must be, apparently so....

If I wanted a contrasting "Black AND White" edition, I might consider this one though....

  • PCB should be white.
  • Fans should be white.
  • I/O shield should be white.
  • Manuals should be white.
  • Box should be white.
If you're going to do it, then do it. Or, don't do it. ;)

If everything were white how would you even see it on the white background? Gigabyte think things through far better than you do apparently :D

Backplate should be white ... side (facing front should be white ... sisnce ya acn't see anything elkse in any tytpical installation who cares. Aesthetically, I love the anodized CPU coolers color matched to your case / system theme. And the fans with white frames and color blades really accentiate the look. All white ? ... yucky. As for LEDs, RGBs => ewwww .... when I use LEDs, its always white except perhaps in water blocks for a bit of highlight. Anything that flashed or breathes to draw attention toi itsel rather than "the build" is not welcome.
