Chuwi Launches 13-Inch 2K CoreBook Pro Notebook

Chuwi has recently launched a new 13-Inch 2K Notebook named the CoreBook Pro. The CoreBook pro features a 2160 x 1440 IPS panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio which is perfect for productivity. The Chuwi CoreBook Pro features an Intel Core i3-6157U dual-core processor with integrated Intel Iris 550 graphics, this processor was a low-end chip when it released in 2016 and will seriously hamper any chance of heavy productivity. The CoreBook Pro also features 8 GB 2133 MHz DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SATA M.2 SSD.

The laptop comes with a chiclet backlit keyboard, USB-C, USB 3.0 Type-A, 3.5 mm Audio Jack, and Micro SD Card Reader. Connectivity includes WiFi 5 networking and Bluetooth 4.2. The laptop is powered via a 46.2 Wh battery which can be charged up via the 40 W DC jack. The laptop measures 289 mm x 219 mm x 17.75 mm and weighs 1.34 kg. The Chuwi CoreBook is now available for pre-order at a sale price of 499 USD with units expected to ship July 28.

I actually bought a $200 Chuwi windows 10 tablet for my 4 year old niece a couple years ago. I wanted her to get comfortable using windows and not android so she could learn how to use a computer, and the thing was actually pretty nice, even came with a graphics pen. It took a beating and keeps working, the quality was better than I was expecting.

Make it a 10 series i5 minimum spec and it would be worth $500

I brought my dad a Chuwi laptop I thought it was a good laptop for its price with big 1080p screen. Of course the power is just an intel atom 4 cores back in 2016. Got for about just above 200 usd in my local currency after discount. Never again, laptop hinge broke after a year of use and the battery got bloated. I also have their cheap hi8 windows tablet after a few months screen cannot respond to touch. I thought it was awesome as that is what I can afford then but they never last long at old. Cheap crap. Repairing 2nd hands laptop is a much better prospect.

1 year ago I bought used but in as new condition Thinkpad t550 with i5 5300u, 8gb ram, 256gb sata m.2, oem win10, 2 batteries,... for 400 eur. I think its still better choice than Chuwi.

This would make a great travel notebook. USB-C is great for downloading your photographs from both your phone and camera. The 1440p resolution 3:2 ratio display is great for viewing those photographs, which could be stored on a tiny USB 3 thumb drive. The low price mitigates concern over it getting damaged or stolen.
