Hell yea! They've updated the graphics drivers alot in this one, and hopefully it'll actually work with my laptop now. Didn't they also update wireless and printer drivers or something?

All the download mirrors are so busy I had to turn to bittorent to get a copy. I'm currently installing it and so far so good.

i will get it because i had 6.06 and i never saw it cuz it wouldn´t run on ATIs and 7.04 runs on ATis but at 60hz

i learned something "popular is not always the best"

some weeks ago i tryed old mandriva 2007 and works perfect on ATis, i guess 2008 it´s even better, i may be wrong but i think mandriva has ati official drivers

so i will DL the new ubuntu, fedora and mandriva to decide what´s the best for me (for a noob)

the new ubuntu seems to have fixed the problem with video card, i hate 7.04 for that, how come such a popular card like the x800 is not supported on the 2 latest versions of ubuntu

BTW
i want to listen mp3 immediately? which distro can do this? i know ubuntu can´t because the stupid copyright on some countries

with 7.04 if you had an ati card you had to install using the option disc and doing command line install. then you have to install the fglrx drivers for xorg and do a bit of xorg.conf tweaking. im glad to know 7.10 takes care of all that. and i never heard of ubuntu blocking mp3s????? just install xmms and off you go.

yep, you cannot listen mp3s in ubuntu by default, you have to download libraries and some other stuff

Or just install VLC Player which uses it's own codecs.
