GPU-Z Ranked as One of the Most Essential PC Apps by Maximum PC

Maximum PC, a major computer player in both the cyber space and publishing media, has put together a list of what they think are the most essential PC apps every user of Windows ought to have installed. All 32 apps (except one) in the list are absolutely free for use. It's very important to mention that our GPU-Z utility is among them. Here's what Maximum PC has to say about GPU-Z:
Sure, you know you have a GeForce 295 card, but what do you know about it? If you want something that'll brace the card for all of its specs, GPU-Z (no relation to CPU-Z) will do the dirty work for you. Offered for free by techpowerup.com, this handy utility will tell you the clocks, the card revision, the number of transistors on the card as well as the process technology used to build the card.
I would like to use this occasion to thank my boss and creator of GPU-Z W1zzard for all the good work he has done, and I think we all should be thankful for his efforts.

Uh GPU-Z doesn't even work on my radeon 3850 AGP with 9.1 or 9.2 drivers.

but I'm glad you are getting recognition because it did work flawlessly on my nVidia card.

Ok not so flawlessly for the 6800 ultra oc , which kept giving me questionable inacurate over bloated fantastic memory bandwidth numbers.

anyway congradulations ...

even if I think it's biased towards nvidia.

it gets handily whipped by oZone Caps.

but then again I don't really like oZone Caps

so I'm saying I like the GPU-Z GUI better

And I hope some day it works on my 3850 AGP

I really have no room to say anything bad about it since it was free.

never smart mouth the programmer or you won't get any help lol

cheers and I'm glad to see the program is getting such good pr.

at least now I know it's being worked on.

I've let the programmer know about my issue.

nVidia fans please stop bragging about your overpriced nVidia cards as if nVidia are somehow the leaders of the pack, ATI have repeatedly demonstrated they can whip the crap out of nVidia
so please just stop now, it makes you look stupid.

especialy when the story is Sapphire Radeon HD3850 whips the crap out of the 6800 ultra oc
and is the last AGP offering - basicaly meaning nVidia got punked on the AGP bus in the end.

quick status update: stress test working and about as hot/hotter than furmark, nvidia overclocking fully working, ati overclocking mostly done, sensors reading done no fancy graphs yet, no fan control yet, working voltage control for gt200 w/ volterra and some early ati cards, lua api/scripting interface about 25% done

Nicely done Wiz, I can proudly say that GPU-Z was what brought me to techpowerup in the first place :D
