Xigmatek, best known with its RED SCORPION S1283, today announced the Cobra D984 - yet another direct heat-pipe CPU cooler with a name borrowed from an animal. Cobra D984 is a high end cooler build upon the company's "Fin connected to HDT base" and "H.D.T. Technology" where four 8mm heat-pipes are in direct contact with the CPU. The cooler measures 131 x 92 x 102mm (W x D x H), weights in 452 grams and features a 92mm PWM controlled fan with an aiflow of 39-54.6CFM and a noise level of 20-28dBA. The Xigmatek Cobra D984 offers support for Intel LGA775 and AMD AM2/754/939/940 sockets, but it is not compatible with the latest Core i7 LGA 1366. It can already be found for just under 30 Euro.
