And it is very hard to become pro. Some people just come naturally. If you go to a big LAN and keep winning and if they have pro's there, you might get noticed.

Like right now Fnatic is hosting a tournament for people to play under them, easiest way to become pro.

I just had a look at the QuakeLive site and the counter on the site will expire @ 12:00am tonight but on the quakelive twitter page someone posted that the open beta will start in about 4h from the time posted (33 minutes ago) so around 7:00pm EST.

I'm confused.....

Quakelive is going to "public" beta at that time ,hence why the site is offline currently while they prepare it for going live.
but as mentioned the times are rather confusing,so ill leave it and check tommorrow to see if its up and running.

What I understand is that whenever this opens up all we have to do is open quakelive.com and we will be able to login and play the game?

No downloads, no clients.. just web based quake awesomeness?

And if the game is free why do they have a beta? Wouldnt it just be v1.0 ?
