Although company officials decline to comment on the story, third party informers claim that ASUSTeK is considering consolidating its Eee PC and notebook departments to help increase efficiency and decrease the management costs for the two departments. Asustek Computer is considering consolidating its Eee PC and notebook departments to help increase efficiency and decrease the management costs for the two departments, according to market sources. The sources have noted that Asustek has already sent out documents of the merger plan to all related department personnel and will work out a schedule in the near future.
Asustek president Jerry Shen has declined to comment on the sources' claims.
