NEC introduced two new lines of all-in-one desktop PCs: ValueStar N, and ValueStar W. The launches push the company's monolithic all-in-one design approach further, into the realm of luxury PCs. The ValueStar N comes in three bezel colours: black, white, and cherry red. The main unit packs the 21.5-inch full HD display, and all the hardware otherwise found in a mini-tower. Under the hood is an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 processor, 4 GB of memory, NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT graphics, and 1 TB of storage.

There is also a 19-inch variant with a display resolution of 1440 x 900 px, and 500 GB storage. Both variants pack a DVD Super Multi drive. A media-center remote is bundled along with the keyboard and mouse. The ValueStar W on the other hand, packs beefier hardware with its Core 2 Quad Q8200 quad-core processor that is watercooled, 4 GB of memory, digital TV tuner, 1TB of storage, Blu-Ray drive and a 22" LCD. Better as it seems, ironically, this display features an underwhelming resolution of 1680 x 1050.

I don't think that they need W/C at all, just looking at the setup suggests all this is done to make more sales at the n00b market segment...

Whoa, just look at the specs, a 9400gt and an e7200, or a q8200. That watercooling is going to be put to good use... wait what?

This lot can be cooled easily with a slow fan and a decent block of metal. :D

well, they COULD.... run a tube around the frame of the pc, with no water tank, just a loob with about a cup of water, and attach fins to it, and totaly close it into the case of the tv... no fans needed...... would be more reliable than having a fan stuck the the side caking it with dust..... everything should be watercooled....

it could be a lot slimmer than if they were to use heatsinks....

Q8200 is supposed to be the lightest of the quad cores. My quad core is hardly hot, only 60C lol.

Nah it's fine, have you seen the size of the retail hsf? First time I've bought a cpu that was mid range and got such a tiny lump of metal. :)

Look at the 90 degree bends on the cpu tubing, you can see the tubing being tortured! FTL.

"Better as it seems, ironically, this display features an underwhelming resolution of 1680 x 1050."

. . . . all you did as copy the thought of the original posting site saying the monitor has a lame resolution?

NEC makes great monitors not to mention the fact and 95% of 21.5-22" monitor are at a "underwhelming" resolution of 1680x1050. . . Please rephrase what you said to something thats more accurate and less source opinion biased.

I run dual 1680x1050 resolution monitors for web design and programming, I guess I'm 2x lame and underwhelming! whats that like 3360 x 2100 total wow im just super lame!

By which I certainly hope you meant 3360x1050... Should re-read your posts if you're going to call people out like that.

I will say though, I really don't see the point in water cooling this thing. It's supposed to be a value-oriented product, and yet liquid cooling is hugely inefficient when you look at its benefits versus the added costs. There's no way NEC is going to be able to market this thing against the HP IQ series, compared to which it is seriously lacking in both style and functionality...
