Yes, it has 1 MB of total cache, but the cache isn't shared between the two cores. Each core has its own 512 KB of L2 cache, and the cores are assembled onto an MCM (multi-chip module), like Pentium D. So a thread can't use more than 512 KB of external cache.
Yes, obviously. I was convinced he meant that Atom 330 had still only 512K, meaning each core had either 256K or 512K shared.
