Hm now the hard part getting it on 2-3 dvd's or one blu ray

i'd probably go for the Dvd's i hope they let you install the game on the hard drive so you only need one disk.

i'll wait until it comes out to see the final out come cause this issue of Game informer he says that the textures and what not are better on the ps3 and they have more "head way" on the ps3.

What he said is they have more headway for storage with an obvious advantage with blu-ray over DVD. Not in performance. Of course if the GPU is to slow it wont matter about the resolution of the textures due to the GPU being weaker. In the end I think they will look identical. Of course the PC will look and run better than both but thats a given. It just wont be as good as it could be due to the cross-platform crap.

As you can see I`m not surprised at all. Sony are saying that in time PS3 games will surpass XBOX360 games but in reality PS3 need time to catch XBOX 360. PS3 has inferior hardware that is hard fact. And no propaganda will change that.

But you can watch 100 HD movies at the same time with the PS3

Its an FPS/racer/survior. Its for the PC also man. Carmack will make it awesome have no doubt. He will also set a new standard. He always does. I just don't know how he can stand with me swinging from his nuts all the time.

i posted his article the other day about where he basically said if your caught using a keyboard and mouse they "smack" your hand with a ruler and MAKE you play the game with a xbox 360 controller basically because its more important than the keyboard and mouse junks

Saw this on Shacknews a while ago, guess they made the 360 version look better as of now:

In an interview with Shacknews, id's John Carmack reiterated that the Xbox 360 version of Rage will look worse than the PlayStation 3 version.

Carmack said that the uncompressed build of Rage encompasses a terrabyte of data, and that id will need to use a "different type of compression" to fit the game on two dual-layer Xbox 360 DVDs.

When asked whether the difference will be significant, Carmack noted that "hero shots" should look similar, but that Xbox 360 players might find a rock that is more blurry when exploring the periphery of Rage's world.

Yup! This is why Carmack has become crazy in his old age (or *cough* is getting paid to say so). I refuse to play any fps style game with a controller. Controllers are better suited for racing games and side scrollers.

Thats no problem. You can play CoD4, CoD5 and Fallout with a controller but we all know how they are played better. Rage will be no different.

Following up on word that, at this stage in development, the Xbox 360 version of Rage runs faster than the PlayStation 3 build, new details have surfaced, indicating PS3 owners should have nothing to worry about when the game is eventually released.
"We are committed to ensuring that gamers on all platforms have a great RAGE experience," developer id said of the "ruckus" in a Twitter update.


Additionally, id tech guru John Carmack, whose admission of lackluster performance sparked the whole debacle, told Edge that "we expect [Rage] to be 60 hertz on every supported platform" and "the work remaining is getting it locked so there's never a dropped frame or a tear, but we're confident that we're going to get that."

No word yet on when Rage will hit PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Mac, but 2010 looks likely.

whether the 360 version is faster or not.....I do not think this would stop me from getting it on my ps3. considering the PC version but I could careless about pc :\ and to be honest I dont know if I will find a difference between 30 fps and 60 fps when im playing the game. still is a huge jump in fps but I doubt thats going to be the final speed for ps3 if it is then im still getting it

im so glad there isn't a release date on this because when developers set a release date there usually stressed to push it by the date and it winds up unfulfilled

yea, thats why for now i'll just wait and see what happens i own all 3 platforms but i'd probably get it on the ps3, mainly cause of the one blu ray disc and better compression of the data even though im sure your going to have to install 10-20 minutes of data on the ps3 hard drive

The PC will run it well over 60fps with AA and better textures. Why on earth would you buy the PS3 version over the PC?

Depends, I started gaming on Consoles and after a while i built my own PC and realized how much better PC gamers have it, from Mods to more players online to upgrading and better visuals.

And yes i have had the PS3, 360 and Wii, Sold my PS3 cause it got crappy to me, Had both 360's kill themselves and my Wii is still going strong. I do play my Wii sometimes, but all my main gaming is on the PC. I also have a N64, Geneisis, PS1, because those were the good days of gaming, the days when you didn't have to worry about a system dieing and the games just got more and more creative with each release, as the generations went on all they now try and do is copy things PC has had for years, WOW!! now we can save our games on a HDD, WOW!! now we can DL demos, omg now we can go on the webs with our consoles, its all been done before and the sooner they realize it the sooner they understand the better platform, because eventually they WILL just be turning into PC's themselves..
