sure that is a good idea? might as well get a used - - - hold up just looked at the price of the slim PS3, only $300? looks like I might be picking one up. Will this drop the price of the fatass PS3? If this is true, I just might become a PS3 fan, instead of a wii fan. That means I can play FFXIII, and several other games, and actually be another in waiting for GT5.

Slim doesn't support PS2 games, so take that into consideration, if it's important.

Yea GT 5 is going to be amazing i don't think that the 360 could handle GT 5 as the team probably has this game super coded for the ps3 like using every last ounce of its resources to produce this game.

Thats like saying "man i wish they made halo for ps3, or gears of war.

of the 3 generations, very, very few were produced with PS2 support. I read somewhere that they will be releasing a firmware update for emulation on the cell processor with PS2 and PSone games. It wouldnt matter then would it?

It was confirmed that there wont be b/c compatibility as of now for the slim and no plans "as of now"

i can almost guarantee it will be a price cut, probably to match the new ps3 price.


Problem is when all cards on the table.

blu ray drive,built in wireless, changable hard drive, 120gb to boot

vs

dvd drive, 120gb hdd,


i'm assuming maybe a even lower price cut who knows.

i mean they may have a new console come out M$ did say "With Natal we can see this generation last until 2015"

another thing i really like about the ps3 is you can use almost any USB wheel,gamepad,etc on the ps3. (as long as it has the corrisponding buttons)

i bought a gamepad from radioshaft for 15 dollars (had all the same buttons) and it works great.

Microsoft delayed their announcement to drop the 360-pro and chop the elite's price down to ~$299 to prevent it being lost in the ps3 slim news (the announcement was planned for yesterday), so we know two things:

-The elite will drop in price as the pro vanishes to match the ps3 slim price (both with 120gb hdds too).
-Microsoft has a gap at their top tier SKU console price point - maybe saving it for a bigger hdd version or the natal SKU.

as soon as consumers find out it has more features, it's basically an instant win.

especially a gaming system that plays blu ray for $299...

i have/had a wii for running old school games on it, best console for that, i don't play any of the actual wii games except the Resident evil ones, house of the dead, and the fun ones like Mario Kart, ...Mario kart...did i mention Mario kart, and SSB brawl.

my wii library consist of probably 6 wii games, ha

The Natal will probably be good at first, but i dunno, something about gaming to me invovles using your hands with a controller/mouse and keyboard, and playing a game.

so your telling me with Natal lets say they have GTA4 use it, to beat someone with a bat you have to pretend to swing a bat in a certain direction?

Gran Turismo is late personified. I purchased my PS3 back in 2006 / 2007 for this game. Fast forward to 2009?

You aren't kidding. It is the only franchise I remember that has pushed their release dates back this much, on every single sequel release. They tried to feed us Prologue in the meantime, but that just doesn't cut it for me. I always hated having to wait on GT, but unfortunately, it is incomparable in the world of racing sims, so I'm forced to wait if I want the best. If it were a game of any less quality, it wouldn't get my money. (again, such is the reason I did not buy Prologue)
