Thanks for the review, Wiz, its good to see Mushkin making cards again..its been so long; just a shame this verion of the 295 offers nothing over the older version.

But in your view...is any card really worth $500 with the release of ATI and nVidia's 'next-gen' offering so close??

Excellent review as always, Interesting to see shaders wouldn't clock over 1400mhz... or did you leaved them low for a reason W1z?

It's a pity that the card's don't carry the hardware needed for the software voltage tweaks, given its missing them and some pcb it'd be nice to either see volt-moddable cards at the same price, or a price drop.

With extra juice I benched my 295 @ 756 core 1620 shaders.... I don't see that coming from a single PCB card.

of course. if you get a 30" display today you should go out and spend $500 on a decent card to run it.. better than sitting drooling in front of the black screen for half a year. besides $500 isn't so bad if you work hard all day and want to run a decent game in the evening to relax as opposed to no games but long talks with your wife

Im a dual PCB GTX 295 owner, is simply the best card i ever had after my ex 8800 Ultra. The only reason for buy this one is for the quiet operation.

With my dual PCB version even you play with headphones you can still hear the noise of the fan, fanspeed should be increased every time you start a game for cool operation and preserving the life of your card...And that means more noise.

i definitely agree with corrosion, i have yet to find a review site that is as in depth and conclusive as w1z, though the second best that i've seen so far is xbitlabs which used to be my favorite before seeing w1z's reviews.

though bout this review, i can't believe how the GTS 250 is so close to GTX 260/hd 4870 performance and in some cases outperforms the HD 4870...i was just how in the hell lol
