meh o well nice card even w/o 4 quads

someone for the hell of it may still want to try the pro bios like i stated in last post though i dont think it will be any different than the xt bios as far as pipes come (that is if it hasn't been tried )

Alright the thing did not work , it booted up but shows still 12 pipes, unless you can edit the HEX way like the x1900gt, I don't think it's going to work.

I didn't install my drivers though, but I don't think that matters. See if one of you guys can HEX edit or something.

what needs to be done is comparing the clocks and pipes from the x1900xt to the x1900gt. then you can simply edit 16pipes and higher clocks without sacrificing crossfire.

Clocks and memory timings were all the same, according ot RaBit. Maybe if you copy lines A0 and B0 from a pro bios to an xl bios it will change the ID? Pure assumption on my part, but according to SprigganX's post his Device ID changed from the normal R580XL(LE?) to just R580 from switching to the XT bios.

My device ID also changed, when I flashed with bios from 1900xt 256, but only this

But I am not sure for the device id , probably only chip name. "LE" was mising after flashing. What is the meaning from bench, when the pipes remains 12. I think that only memory timings will be changed and the clock will be changed cause ot that.

Memory timings and clocks were all the same. Im just curious as to whether or not there is a slight increase in performance - most likely there won't be but who knows - it doesn't hurt to try.

I have X1900XT 256,only 1.84v to mem says Atitool & WinClk
Read somewhere GT had 2.084 so maybe performance for you will only decrease.

1.2ns is rated for 800mhz... 1600

it should be ok @ 900mhz with more voltage

well, atleast you can run 2 X1900GT's in crossfire, I flashed the club3d card with the sapphire's bios so that they are Identical.. (didn't quite work before)
I get Aprox. 50-60 -/+ fps in oblivion* (outside), 1280*1024 All settings on max (No HDR, using bloom) 6x AA. (got around 10-30 fps before)
Halflife 2 also shows improvement, but on my computer it runs @ ca 100-150fps with a single card (lost coast gave 73 FPS @ 6x AA 16XAF else on max)

also seems that X3 reuinon gives a little performance boost, 40-80fps @ 1280*1024 6AA 16AF else on max from a 30-50fps before

does anyone know if there is a program that shows if crossfire is being used? loadshare between cards? (I know Nvidia's SLI has a similar tool)

*= thinking of making a quick video showing oblivion with/without X1900GT Crossfire, if the people wants it

ps. in case you are still wondering, Yes, masterless 2 x X1900GT in Crossfire is supported in Cat. 6.8. (you may have to flash one of the cards with the other one's bios) and is working..

That's right. But you can help in that direction and meanwhile yourself posting your GB_PIPE_SELECT values. It is NO RISK operation but probably you will learn whatever you already suspect. I don't want to be "bad prophet" but your chance for unlockable core is less that 1%.

I am thinking the same that it will not be possible, but we can look for it the GB_PIPE_SELECT 0xAD4E (info from atitool 0.25 prebeta16 release3).
My scores are now 3dmark3,5,6 15780,9912,4394 so i hope i will be able to change voltages from default in some time (now not possible in any tool,in ati overclocker it looks like it is not working too) and then i am satisfied with 11k in 3dmark5

One thing i have forgoten, what i have readed this value GB_PIPE_SELECT 0xAD4E is unlock pending but from rabit i read the foloving so i am not sure if i have xl, pro or le.

hey... i got the new X1900GT from Sapphire... now im messing up time because i want to change the voltage´s but can´t ... someone knows how to unlock Voltage regulation @ATI-tool or has a working bios with changed Vgpu?

attached my bios... tried changing Vgpu with rabit but as far as i couldn´t clock any further and temps were the same i´m convinced it didnt work...

just flashed my new GT with the X1900XT bios ... card works after driver re-install but still 12PP´s no voltage regulation ... long story, short: same shit as before... want some Voltmod -.-

If there´s anyone out there... HELP!
