@anatolymik what did my .dat tell you?
i will mod it with ASUS SLI cert
I would say try just for S&G: The modified file for the driver Forceware 190.62 (Windows XP 32 bit) with forced use of the certificate ASUS from here: http://xdevs.com/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.30
2.1 MB - the driver must use the certificate ASUS, regardless of the actual manufacturer of the motherboard. This would include even on SLI motherboards manufacturers, who have no Х58 solutions.
Step 5. then install the modified driver, If everything went correctly, your system will immediately warn about the SLI support and the driver will activate the tab with the management of SLI. If due to some error the system will not boot, or is showing errors and blue screens at boot, press F8 and select "Load last known configuration".
To install the nv4_mini_rev2asus.rar unpack & move the file to were the 190.62 driver is unpacked. run or re-install the driver.
Seems to be the only solution.you need SUPERMICRO SLIC

SLi allowed on FX Cards? perhaps thats the problem
I tried that. Twice! The first try was done using both 16x PCIe Ports on my mainboard. Then I did a clean reinstall of Windows XP32bit with both graphic cards in PCIe-Slots that are connected to the same IOH-36D. Still no SLI available.
GPU-Z and nHancer recognize the system as "SLI availbable" but also say: "Disabled".
(See attached screenshot).
Seems to be the only solution.
As suggested I tried to use the modified drivers without HAL-Mod: No SLI.
Then I installed the HAL-Mod for XP 32bit: No change, except that the Chipset has been recognized as X58.
Now I have to find someone with the Supermicro C7X58. No SLI for me. :-(
my cpu-z shows an x58 on my 790FX board, but it doesn't show me having any RAM haha. nothing shows up in any RAM slots. this happening to everyone else?
it would be better if you have second card.
as for stability i don't know

in the DSDT_AWRDACPI.dsl file you sent me, just change
this:
"987134512781Genuine NVIDIA Certified SLI Ready Motherboard for ABIT X58 Motherboard3287-Copyright 2008 NVIDIA Corporation All Rights Reserved-765289891023(R)"
to this:

then run these commands:
asl dsdt_awrdacpi.dsl
asl /loadtable -d dsdt.aml
asl /loadtable -v dsdt.aml
www.xdevs.com\sli\HALMod v0.7 alpha.ZIP
1. Download
2. Unpack
3. run install.cmd FROM WINDOWS EXPLORER AS ADMINISTRATOR
4. Reboot
5. Post screenshots of CPUZ
I will - as soon as I find a suitable harddrive for testing...HALMod for WinXP x32 it not modded so good as for Win7 x64. And for now latest version of HALMod for Win7 x64 is best solution. You tried in WinXP x32. You should try in Win7 x64.
It's still Supermicro. Model: X8DAH+. Dual XeonTell me your motherboard manufacturer.
Of course I have two FX 4800 cards. I even bought a SLI-Bridge just to be sure that a missing bridge isn't the reason.Send me screenshot of NVIDIA control panel.
Do you have 2 FX4800 cards? Try if you can another pair of cards

The attached screenshots are from Server 2008 R2. (compareable with Win7 x64) The NVidia Control Panel looks identical in WinXP 32bit... The second screenshot (systeminformation window) ist of course Server 2008 R2 specific. On XP I used your recommended desktop drivers. This screenshot shall only show that there are two cards installed in my system.
Maybe I should try the newest HAL-mod with server 2008 R2?
An early version of the HAL-Mod did not work and someone mentioned that Server 2003 (and 2008) would be unable to run SLI at all. Nevertheless some time later a HAL-mod has been released that should enable SLI on Server 2003 x64 - so maybe it is also possible with Server 2008 R2.
I already tried to contact someone with the Supermicro C7X58 (that is the SLI certified X58 mainboard from Supermicro) but did not receive an answer until now.
