Maybe now they will not work so hard adding counter-measures to their new drivers??

I will test HALmod Rev.4 as soon as I can, but I am still trying to work out how to turn that a 8800GTS into a GT ???

Is it a G92?

Give me a bios of your 8800GTS.

Don't forget you need to disable UAC, plus be in test mode.

Test mode? Directory Services or Debug mode?

Did you see my post before about the problem? If you flash the card with an 8800GT bios it is always detected as an 9800GT,

this card was re-branded to a 9800GT (even though it has 128SP enabled): http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...00-gt-roundup-evga-asus-gigabyte-palit-7.html

I tried changing the device "name" with Nibitor but that doesn't enable SLI (even on a real SLI board)

I think there are other IDs deeper in the bios that are not being changed,

I have been trying different Board / Sub / System / Device IDs but nothing has worked yet,

it is not my card so I really don't want to kill it, I have not had much luck with that this week...

I am still trying to get my hands on another card to test with. My friend has a 8800GTS-512 card I can borrow but there is a problem. I have run SLI with the 8800GTS-512 + 8800GT in the past but to do it you must flash the cards bios, when you flash a 8800GTS-512 with a 8800GT bios for some reason the card is detected an a 9800GT!

Normally this is not a problem because you can then flash the 8800GT card with a 9800GT bios and SLI will work. My problem is that my 8800GT card is not a reference design, it is a strange ECS budget card with 700MHz memory chips, so I can not flash this card into a 9800GT (or a 8800GTS-512)

So, I must find some way to flash the 8800GTS so it is detected as a normal 8800GT, I will try changing the device and board IDs with Nibitor, but I'm not having a lucky week so I don't want to risk killing my friends card. I will keep looking into the problem, and for another card that I can use, but as soon as I can test something I will let you know the results!

The GT bios is not uploaded here or on MVKtech, I am not at home now but I will dump it when I get back, thanks

Try this out. I switched the vendor too.

If this doesn't work maybe you can Dev ID mod the 8800GT -> 9800GT as well.

but this time use SliStringInstaller once (if you do it more, you can get BSOD).

do follow.
install win7
do SliStringInstaler and restart
check it in Everest and make a screenshot
if it's ok do HALMod, but in cmd (start->run.cmd->install.cmd) and make a screenshot of window you have, restart

i think i know what it is. if you remove sli before switching and switch memory, and after this do SliString again, you wouldn't get BSOD

I went from a 2x1GB Crucial Tracer kit to 2x2GB Hynix ValuRAM. Had to do system restore LHALmod was running just fine before. Was going to test 2 3870's on nForce board later on within a week.

what version of HALMod did you use when you got BSOD

Didn't change the version at all. but it was LHALmod....

Used it due to it showing X58. Can't check SLIC cert as it's nforce board already.

I'm running an nforce5 board and 2x ATI HD4850.

LHALmod and HALmod 0.9 dindn't enable crossfire option, with 9.9 Win7 x64 drivers.
