I can get 5-10% CPU usage on my old 4000+ dual core setup properly with CCCP, thats less than one third the CPU power yours is taking. its somewhat hard to do a direct comparison unless we have the same media file, however.
please, dont assume that K-lite is "designed" for HD, when in fact its just using good old FFDSHOW and one of the most common players out there.
K-lite has incompatibilities and conflicts out of the box (so to speak). CCCP does not.
why tweak for performance and compatibility, when codec packs out there offer the same performance and problem free experience from the start? they use the same player and codecs, its just that ones actually tested properly...
