Mionix, the Swedish manufacturer of professional high-end gaming accessories today unveiled their new gaming mouse, Mionix Naos 5000. Ergonomically designed and stuffed with new and innovative features, Mionix Naos 5000 not only stands out from the crowd, it sets new standards when it comes to comfort, tracking capacity and customization options.

"When we started this project our goal was to create a fully adjustable and innovative gaming mouse with unique features. It has been very challenging and we put in a lot of effort to archieve our goals. Mionix Naos 5000 is a big step forward to become one of the world's leading manufacturer of gaming accessories with a wide range of gaming products that gamers can identify themselves with. We are very proud to be the first Swedish manufacturer of gaming accessories to develop a gaming mouse", says Carl Conradsson, Mionix.

WHERE INNOVATION MEETS PERFORMANCE
The design of Mionix Naos 5000 is interesting due to the fully support to all five fingers. It has been under development since the beginning of this year and has been tested by gamers, both professionals and amateurs in order to find the perfect ergonomic grip.

The new innovative weight tuning system is completely new to the market. Gaming mice with traditional positioned weight tuning systems sometimes gets heavy in the back. In order to prevent this, Mionix Naos 5000 has a centralized weight tuning system that improves the weight distribution of the mouse. Another stunning feature is the S.Q.A.T (Surface Quality Analyzer Tool), a smart tool that measures the tracking quality of the mousepad surface.

Mionix Naos 5000 carries only carefully chosen high-end components. The 6 integrated LEDs supports extensive color options and can be configured from the software among other functions such as adjustable lift-distance, dpi sensitivity, macros and much more. Mionix Naos 5000 also has a built-in memory that manages up to 5 profiles, when you go on LAN just plug in your mouse and start immediately, no driver or other software needs to be installed.

A STAR HAS BEEN BORN
This prominent gaming mouse is named after the star Naos, a blue super giant and one of the brightest stars in our galaxy. Naos means "ship" and is enough powerful to create comet tails and huge clouds of auroras visible from Earth. Naos is constantly moving away from its original position in the constellation of Vela and it spins about 100 times faster than our sun. Since its birth it has covered a distance of 400 light-years. No one knows exactly why Naos has such a high rotation speed, but an explanation to this phenomenon lies in the gravitational interaction between many other stars.

In the middle, top picture it looks like the mouse is made for left handers. That would be AWESOME:rockout: I have such better dexterity in my left fingers(I'm left handed).

Looks like a near perfected Diamondback mouse well except this mouse is not for left handed people. Shame As i would of got this if it was for left handed people too. Shame there is not bumps on the side buttons too.

How ever really like it..

Good looking, but the chances of this Swedish product being widely available stateside is highly unlikely. Toobad, I will have to stick with my 5600 CM Storm Sentinel.

"It has been very challenging"
Really? It's challenging to make a mouse like a million others? um... OK

Looks OK on pictures though I agree, but as for ergonomics, that has to be fieldtested, because although it looks just like the other manufacturers you can still screw up when you make it to small or big or narrow or wide andsoforth.

According to wiki, Naos rotates at 211km/s along the equator of the star. The Sun apparently rotates at 119km/s, so I think the math is off somewhere unless they calculated from the poles of the Sun rather than the equator. Naos completes one rotation in 4.8 days while the Sun takes 25 days. I can't see any correlation where the Sun rotates at 1% of Naos' rotation.

I could be horribly wrong though. Nice mouse.

Looks nice - probably would be comfortable - and the cable covering seems like a good idea, but that's a ton of money for a mouse....

A bit edited quote (G5 has the same braiding for the cord and not so fan of that). But it looks nice and I'd like it to be cheaper too. Same mouse but without the weights or memory and maybe even less leds. If it would bring the price to 2/3d of current, then yeah.

I'd take less sensitive laser too if it would drop the price for half :) Market is filled with the expensive hyper mouses, they need to make a cheaper version of them them too with no frills. Will get the job done, just like say 5850 instead of 5870.

I still need software tunable sensitivity and side buttons, haven't seen them in the cheap razers and besides those haven't seen any cheap quality mice :/

Mionix Naos 5000 uses the Avago 9500 sensor found in the Logitech G500 and Logitech G9x except the Mionix Naos 5000 has the advantage of adjusting the CPI for both the X and Y axis in increments of 1 and it has an automatic lift feature.

mice that use the Avago 9500 sensor.

A Companies: Logitech G500, Logitech G9x, SteelSeries Xai.
B Companies: Mionix Naos 5000, Ozone Smog and QPAD|5K.

you can add OCZ, Wolfking and A4Tech to the list of B Companies eventually.

Can you program the top two buttons or are they retarded like logitech's and only used for dpi sensitivity (most useless feature ever).

And I spy someone with about 10 modems and a node all to themselves lol. Actually, I'm not even sure how much it would scale. I assume they reran the shit with fiber, but not sure how much you can pump through a line (unless you're tapped off separate lines in).
