The vCase3 is a low profile HTPC case aimed at the DIYers out there who want an elegant yet simplistic design to house even the wildest of HTPC systems while not breaking the bank. Today we take a closer look at what the case has to offer.

Looks like a decently thought out straightforward case. Nothing too fancy or wierd just does what a case should do. Except! one thing that is lacking on many cases and especially SFF/HTPC ones that have lots of venting...air filters. Nothing sucks like having a bunch of dust build up in your PC. I think you guys should harp on this a little more, maybe you can influence case designers to include some type of filtering or at least provisions that make it easy to add on.

Get a pantyhose, cut it to size, tape it to the vents, job done in five minutes.

But, it's five minutes a manufacturer could have done as well.

Yes, and a pantyhose costs three bucks, and manufacturers market the revolutionary air filters as an unique feature that is worth paying 25 bucks more.

True, true. Either way, it's something a manufacturer could have done but failed to do.
Plus, the case is pricy enough as it is, I don't think adding a filter would warrant it being priced at $200+...

Not that I don't agree with you about DIY, I love DIY :)

Yes at 200 bucks you'd expect the manufacturer to slap some plastic on the vents... Man I wish this case becomes available here, it would be perfect for me:(

With the discount coupon code that was given to TPUers the case is only $149 USD

even with filters you still get dust. try changing your furnace filter once a month... that will get rid of alot of dust believe it or not.

looks quite minimal... reminds me of the lian li media centre case (with rack handles) that i bought a while back only smaller (which trust me is a good thing... that lian li was a supertower lying flat!)... to be honest I think it looks like an old fashioned VCR case... but becuase of that i guess its unobtrusive and will blend in ok.

Hi there,

VidaBox does ship internationally - just add the item to the cart, and you should be able to check out just fine...

Thanks but 76$ shipping is a bit overwhelming to say the least. I'll wait till its available on this side of the pond:toast:

Hmm.. well, if there is enough of an interest, we may be able to set up some sort of "group buy" thing for you guys in Europe. After all, we do have a main European distributor in Spain for completed systems.. just need to get at least 10 to ideally 15 or more people in on this. (The shipping costs are linear up until about 8-10 units, then the cost savings start coming in - keep in mind that there are VATs, etc. which a bulk shipment can help minimize).

If you're on the other side of the pond and are interested, post here so that we can take a head count, and we'll see what we can do - thanks!

Not personally interested, but seeing this kind of initiative does give me a good feeling with you guys. Thought you'd like to know :D

I was interested until I realized the top cover was flimsy(I stack components). Oh well, looks like i'm stuck with my RC 280 for a bit longer.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - we'll definitely take this all into consideration for the next model/revision of the chassis.

Keep the thoughts coming! :toast:
