ok. wait for news
Thank you
I really hope it gets fixed because the SLi is just what I need for the kind of games I play
Hey guys, so, did the whole:
-SLIStringInstaller 2.0
uninstalled the SLIString
rebooted
reinstalled ASUS Cert
then
-SLIPatch
Installed
Rebooted
Got the Windows 7 SLIEnabled x64 option on the boot menu. Chose it.
Installed 195.62 drivers. No SLI.
Rebooted
No SLI
Reran SLIStringInstaller2.0, SLIString shows as installed
This is under Windows 7 x64, hardware as follows:
Mobo: ASUS Crossfire III Formula (790fx chipset)
Video: Dual GTX 280 1GB
Memory: 8gb DDR3 1666
HD: RAID 0 dual 640gb WD Caviar Black, single 1TB WD Caviar Black
PS: Corsair 950TX 950w
I can happily report no Testmode, but again, no SLI either.

Formatted clean install of XP
Installed 195 drivers and SLI Patch without SLI String Installer
PC will not boot to Windows XP Professional SLIEnabled x32
ARGH!

boot with usual windows, then enter windows\system32 and look for ntoskrnl.exe.
copy this file to other folder, rename it to ntoskrnp.exe and copy to windows\system32.
after try to boot with SLIEnabled
Still does not boot. Just goes to Windows XP Loading Screen and reboots

now copy ntoskrnp.exe from patch back to windows\system32.
then copy hal.dll from windows\system32 to other folder and rename it to halsli.dll and
after this copy renamed file to windows\system32.
try to boot with SLIEnabled.

ok.
now do next:
copy from windows\system32 ntoskrnl.exe and hal.dll to other folder.
rename ntoskrnl.exe to ntoskrnp.exe
rename hal.dll to halsli.dll
copy these files to windows\system32
try to boot with SLIEnabled
by the way. all copying of files you must perform in usual windows without slienabled
Yea I'm doing it all in usual windows cos it's the only one that boots anyway...
And I have tried all of what you have just said, and it still does not boot :/
I wanted to install Windows 7 and try SLi on that but I can't even do that because the install tells me my CD/DVD drive does not have drivers so the installation can't continue

so when you renamed original ntoskrnl.exe to ntoskrnp.exe and original hal.dll to halsli.dll and copied they to windows\system32 you couldn't to boot?

hm, i guess there is no way to make some kind of autopatcher for hal.dll/ntoskrnl.exe/winload.exe ? because there is MANY different versions of this files in "hotfixes" and would be great if fast patching would be somehow possible.

I know that SLi can work on my system, because it worked with modded 191 drivers and SLi String Installer
So why does this patch refuse to work with my computer?
