That is about what I expected honestly. I am shocked my expectations were right no the money.

So with some laptop parts, a micro ITX board, and this you can possible build a HTPC in something the size of a external HDD. That is pretty awesome for that niche.

Or it might come in handy in between GPU upgrades when I don't have a video card.

I can do that now with the 790GX chipset. I would not waste the money on "something to pay with".

Yeah but when you don't buy MOB with on board video it's kind of hard to do that. (Unless you have other video cards like I said I have)
But besides being a toy If I like it enough I would build a HTPC around it.
BTW when you build computers for fun...... Isn't that what we are always doing anyways..... Spending money on toys?

you need a special motherboard in order to use this CPU anyway. Otherwise it'd have no outputs.

From what I've read at other reviews about this chip is that the native board is yes the H55 but also with the most modern BIOS up date on all if not just most P55's you can use these chips on it as well.

Well he means you can use it as a regular i5 but hell why get this when you can't use the GPU output.

i'm focusing purely on the GPU side of it, yes.

why pay for a CPU with a GPU, when you cant use the GPU part of it? waste of money, power and heat

Im agree with the guy that posted that is look a lot lika a prototipe, it shouldnt come out to the market in this conditions.

They can turn silicon into processors using photolithography (an incredibly complicated process that tooks years to develop) so I expect them to be able to hire some decent software monkey's to make drivers that are as good as the drivers for their chipsets.

With a market share as high as Intel's, you don't need decent software monkeys; you just need the absolute bare minimum of quality.

Oober Duh Touche my good friends....... Had a blond moment. But that still doesn't change the fact that you could use it with a p55 board with a video card. So yes I didn't think my original statement threw! But you can still use it with a video card on a P55 with a BIOS update is more of what I meant.

This GPU doesn't make sense for gamers. The CPU would if it retailed for significantly less than the i5 750 But as with the Q6xx0 series the MCM will be followed in the next gen by an integrated MCH/PCH/GPU. What it does do is make nVidia ION all but irrelevant once it gets integrated into Atom CPUs (assuming that platform can cope with YouTube HD, iPlayer HD, MKV and Blu-Ray) and beats AMD to market with heterogeneous multi-core processing units as they did with the Q6600.

Agreed, AMD need to make sure theirs can cope with WoW at netbook resolutions, then they win.

in my opinion this gpu does not have the power to play serious wow. i benched at detail settings high which is the lowest i would ever play on (wow raiders know: dont step on the blue! i dont see anything. wipe). at these settings it's unplayable .. if you are a casual wow player and dont raid you could definitely run lowest details though

I rest on your laurels by providing the only proof that Intel needed to resolve the AMD/ATI case fast, mainly as thier GPU tech sucks donkeys balls. So I'm sure Intel bought some older tech we will see in future platforms from them.



As a side note after building/servicing/using many integrated intel platforms at work, and then using a 4200 with a 250 I believe the OEM market needs a change of the poopy Intel diaper they have been living with for so long. I know now that all my future work builds and independant budget builds will be AMD/ATI for the price/performance they offer.

I believe that if Intel had left their GPU's power saving features enabled, there could be a definite boost in this benchmark that would position the Clarkdale setup better. But as it looks right now, the power saving features are reserved for Intel's Mobile parts.

I'm sorry Intel but if you have the means to reduce power consumption on several million parts then DO IT.
