Are they trying to make bulldozer look like an old idea? I think the iGPU will be only about as powerful as a 9300GT.
Thats more than enough for most people considering this proc, also your saving about 50 or so dollars from not having to buy a GPU, and thus making this a better option than an AMD quad.

It would be very fun to OC. Thats for sure.

QFTW!

At the end of the day people, generally this CPU/GPU is not aimed at us (enthusiasts) or gamers, it is primarily for OEM's, watch thousands of these go into your work PC's and general middle of the road consumer desktops.

It would suck if the GPU died/faulty in it? You would have to replace the whole thing?

Does it come with different warranty for the GPU and CPU?

Would this run very hot? and need a dam good stock cooler to keep them both cool?

No because the cpu part is 32nm.

O-k :wtf:

32nm will run cooler etc then 45nm, but this is intel we are taking about, it will run hot anyway. And at those clock speeds, easily going to get warm, with the crappy stock coolers intel give with there CPUs.

Low Power consumption + integrated gpu + high speed dual core processors that can handle most anything.

I have to say at the right price these could be nice. The thing everyone should be looking at is the iGPU, I mean hello people, this is new stuff here.

What's new? So they shoved a gpu in the processor box - so you think thats a good idea? If they have that much space why not put another 4 cores in there and switch them on when needed?

Would you buy a graphics card with a built in cpu? Or a hard drive with a built in sound card?

Its all about the platform cost - the mobo and the cpu - and AMD have a nice chipset with integrated graphics in the 790 and 785 which are cheap. But Intel processors seem faster...

Come on AMD! Give us a little hope that you can do more than cut your margins

What's your proof other than fan boy bias?

What does AMD's budget PC approach have to do with the topic at hand, your bias is making you blatently ignorant. This is clearly not for you, but don't flame it, this product will most likely do well ( much to the AMD of AMD Fan Boys here who are already claiming the irellivence of this product) because it does what well over 60 % of the people who use PC's need. And that's provide a reasonably priced proc and GPU all in one, and will be more than capable of email, internet, videos, and photos and music. Most people don;t need or want a 150 dollar proc + 100 dollar vid card and 100 dollar mobo, and 100 dollars worth of ram, and then 150 dollar OS, when they can get one of these to do everything they need from Dell or Gateway, or Compaq ect. for 300 dollars!

Be prepared to see a lot of these in baseline value models from OEM vendors!

Anyway that said someone get the Fabreeze it stinks of fan boys in here.

Fanboy? Me? I just want a competitive environment which drives down prices, increases processing speeds and drives innovation. And I am not sure that bundling bits together is the right way to go... If we were in a world where the gpu was better used then it might make more sense but I do agree we're not going to get there unless there are lots more igps out there that can be programmed.

As for the fan boy thing - just realised every pc I have ever built has AMD processors (but not the prebuilts - they have all been Intel) so perhaps...

This is not meant for gamers or enthusiasts in anyway shape or form, and actually having the GPU on the CPU chip will increase the speed by a good bit. These will be in budget PCs from every OEM vendor. Also these would be perfect for Macs, a cool running CPU with a decent GPU built in, steve jobs will shit himself. This is very serious threat to AMD on the budget market.

Thats just my point, you and I perhaps would not, thousands of companies worldwide will, where do Intel and AMD make most of their money? In OEM sales of course, i dont think I saw anywhere in the article that thes CPU's were specifically aimed at the "enthusiast" market.

There are other factors here to consider also, if these things do take off, even if, as I said, mainly in the OEM marketplace then I would guess we are going to see a lot less motherboards with IGP in the future, that wont effect intel too much but may well hurt some of it's partners however mobo costs may go down eventually because of it, I wouldnt think NVidia will be too happy though.

Both ATI/AMD, and NVidia have been dreading the release of this product. It takes a lot of the appeal of low end dedicated and mobo intergated GPU's away. Honestly this does affect NVidia a little less, as they have more or less allowed their presence in the budget GPU market to go stagnent.
I would argue the company that will be most affected by this is AMD, and it's third party mobo manufacturers, as most AMD board come with an integrated GPU, and budget PCs are it's bread and butter. Also as I said before this could be a big boost to OEM's and even *shiver* help apple gain market share, as it could potentialy make apples cheaper.

Its a trend in technology in which things become more minimalistic.

Example: Cell Phone made Call when they first were invented.
Now they surf the internet, can be used as portable modems, organizers, alarm clocks...etc.

FAIL

If you believe making conclusions about the preformance and thermals of this product when no one has publicly seen or used one, your beyond demented. You sure drank the koolaid!

" 32nm will run cooler etc then 45nm, but this is intel we are taking about, it will run hot anyway. And at those clock speeds, easily going to get warm, with the crappy stock coolers intel give with there CPUs. " is not a question!

Your making statments about how "hot" it will run, yet you can't possibly know this, as there is no data to show this will be the case.

LOL o dear another person that has never done any research before tsk tsk.

1. I never said anything about performance, please read the above statements.
2. Do you have any idea how hot intel CPU's run at with the stock coolers? since thats what im getting at here. And with an addition of a GPU ummmm hello its going to get very warm, don't you think? and GPU's run hotter then CPU''s 99% of the time. But lets hope im wrong and they pull this off.
3. At least i have past evidence to support my theories.
4. If your not going to listen to reason then don't even bother replying, look into what you say before saying it.
5. If your going to start to use things like "your beyond demented" then im sorry i just lost all respect for you and your comments.

Okay seeing as how your clearly beyond reason. This is all I will say to you.

1. Thermals are hand and hand with is not part of preformance, what good is a fast chip if you can't cool it properly ( I'm assuming this is what your eluding to as part of your argument). FAIL #1
2. Yes I do, clearly you do not as you seem to think all Intel's run as hot as a Pentium 4. FAIL #2
3. The CPU is 32 NM, and from the size of the GPU on it, it seems to be 45 nm as otherwise it would have a hard time fitting on the chip ( the same 45nm process that everyone praises ATI for and makes their cards run rather cool ). FAIL #3
4. You talk about "past evidence" but that's all you do is talk, saying you have such a thing, yet you never do anything to provide it, nor do you say where it came from nor do you cite references ( talk about not doing your research) making you look like little more than a child saying "it's true because I said so!". FAIL #4
5. The only "reason" you have yet to post is little more than your opinion. And if you were intelligent you would know that your opinion and fact are very different things. "Look into what your saying before you say it" FAIL #5
6. I don't need your "respect" nor do I care if I have it, your still wrong wiether you respect me or not. kinda FAIL

Now I would love to engage you in a battle of whits but it is clear to me that you sir are unarmed!

Finally as I said again this is the last thing I will say to you on the subject. :toast:

Exactly which is why Apple and OEM's will eat these up. The AMD fan boys just can't seem to grasp that AMD can't compete with this level of budget value.

:toast:

Please revert back to number 4 of my previous statement. :toast:

Guru3D Ran a nice looking review.

Excellent overclocks and temps under stock cooling, and really low power consumption for the green crowd. I have a 650 on the way....:D

Temperature in Degrees C idle 100%

Core i5 661 3,33 GHz 31c 60c
