To be honest, Crossfire doesn't impress me either. SLI isn't always any better tho. If a single gpu is fast enough for your needs, it's the better way to go anyway.

I haven't had up to date a single Muti-GPU setup without some form of issues. Always trouble, always the hassle.

crossfire and SLI are both buggy, thats not the point.

Are you (the fermi lover) forgetting the 8800GTX when it first came out? hell, the whole G80 line?

Constant driver crashes/recoveries (screen going black, not always recovering), microstutter on the 320MB card, issues with fan speed and cards overheating, almost every DX10 game having crashes, corruption, or terrible performance?

they were nowhere near perfect, for a long time. Why will GT100 be any different to G80? its a new core design, so they'll have just as many problems this time around.

yea i def wouldn't buy the GTX 275 right now. HD 5830 is supposed to be released this month(was delayed from feb 5th

) with the "supposed" specs of 1280 shaders, which should put its performance at round GTX 285 from my guess. and its supposed to debut at $239. So somewhere round GTX 285 performance plus DX11 n the other goodies on the HD 5XXX series.

Or wait for Fermi's release, either way i think u should wait.

gtx275 is definetly one of the best price/perf, the only games i have 60- fps (sometimes) are borderlands (maxed all out)mostly roun 70 FPS min 45 I think. Risen all maxed including AA @ 16X OR 8 x I dont know what the game lets me do max, round 50 fps. And crysis always round 30 fps mostly a bit higher at stock clocks. so yeah its a good card. for the rest i run them all maxed including AA maxed above 60 fps avg. but i have above avg pc

. dont need 2 cards for just 3 games. just hope crysis 2 runs better than cry1 and warhead.

Sure it is a good option, if you want to stay with windows XP, DX9 and never see any new eyecandy.

Otherwise you can buy a ATI DX11 card, run it in Windows 7 and see all the new eyecandy and get the benefit of newer tech and better drivers that increase performance and stability.

If you can find a GTX275 in stock for under 220 then it might be worth buying but you get no DX11 where as you can buy a HD5850 for a little more and get a faster card and get DX11

its a good card but I would only pay 190 for it right now new, thats just me though

I bought my card for 200€. And i think it was worth it. And yes youre right all. 5850 is better and it has dx11. But it costs min 50€ more. and you dont really need dx11 for now IMO. Im not an ati hater or nvidia fan. I think that my next card will be an hd 5850 or 5870( the 5870 if it gets cheaper). Because i think that when nvidia releases the gtx3xx series, they are really expensive.

FYI look at what happened to several AMD threads, there were so many trolls in there that several threads had to be locked because of idiots. I'm just saying this is a major fail on nvidia's part to stand and deliver. Pushing back parts for so long makes them obsolete quicker. Look what happened to larrabee which intel canned.
