Asus p5n-e SLI replacement northbridge cooler

hey guys ive seen a dirt cheap Asus p5n-e SLI mobo but it has no north bridge heatsink and i carn't find anywhere that sells them. Could you post some links to sites that have them so i can see if it really is as cheap as id like? cheers guys.

i cant really answer your question. i tried looking and ant really find much. but imo the p5n-e is not a slouch. that was the only bored that took my E7200 to 4.5Ghz.

I agree with Solaris, that board is not shabby. Did you try and contact Asus to see if they have any heatsink replacements?

i haven't, but thats why i want the board but id like to be able to find a sink for it, i dont want to spend money on and then not be able to use it coz i cannot find a heat sink

yeah, try and ask if they will sell/send you a NB heatsink before buying the motherboard haha

i tried sending them an email but i have to fill in a form with information i dont have, as i dont actualy have the mobo, but i have posted a thread on their forums. You guys dont no of any other heatsink, not stock, that could be used instead? i dont no of any to look for

i just dont remember the clip system. and i couldnt find a good pic of the area so its hard for me to reccomend one.

Actually Asus might suprise you. I had bought an "open box" from the egg a few years back that for some reason did not have the chipset cooler on it. I called NE, they said I must of lost it and would not RMA it. :mad:

So I called Asus and told them that I bought a board that did not have the cooler, they sent me one no questions asked. Give them a try. Or you could just pick up a generic aftermarket for a few bucks.

o well thats totally standard. any old cooler should do. thermalright has some good ones. just make sure they clear your CPU HS

The heatsink on the P5N-E was crap anyways, so you don't need anything fancy, and the southbridge didn't have a heatsink on it(though it has holes for one).

I think something like these should do:

VIZO VIZO-NBC-101-ALM Aluminum Sleet Chipset Coole...

or

ZALMAN ZM - NBF 47 Aluminum Heatsinks only

Try asking them the dimension of the heatsink and find a heatsink that would be the same dimension and compatible with the holes for the motherboard.
