I have some freezes(1s)/ while playing BC2, but i had fun for 30min.Vantage dropped 2000 and i have some freezes hear and there in gpu bench.

i played for 30min with sli working but with sli disable option.

now ill test slipatch test.

i have a problem, and its an weird one.

I cant use this driver again, every time i boot in SO i have the black screen.I have to force shutdown.

so i cant test the test slipatch with this driver anymore, go figure.

i installed 2 9800 gtxtoday and enabled sli mode in nvidia control panel but both pc wizzard and gpuz says sli disabled

i installed the drivers again and its ok.

the new patch did nothing, sli only appears with sli boot disable.its the same as the other patch.

those who claim success with SLI Mod + 258.69 or higher drivers; crash comes normally @ 5mins, but can come as late as 30mins of gaming. to postpone the crash, set energy options to max in nvcpl....otherwise the crash might come after 5mins (my most usual amount of time before crash). So far, one user reports stability, but thats with a decade old OS...

I normally never let my PC stay on unused, but this week I've had it on while watching movies (on external Blu-ray and LCD TV, pc doing nothing) and actually experienced TWO "driver has stopped responding...recovered" errors, both times when I was about to launch MSN Live (pick up "Windows Start" -> find msn icon...with 257.15 driver !!! SLI enabled, 0.8b, W7 x64

Also, I always use the INTERNATIONAL driver...more luck with US one??

yep yep. I installed them again (international) and bang!!! BSOD.

Control panel feels sluggish to me (with new drivers). Manuevering around and applying settings are taking extra ordinarily long for some reason. Anyone else experiencing this?

Is sluggished on my system too! And the comboboxes can be jumpy at times.

I think 258 drivers have problems with desktop size...and hopefully that's all

but before i want to be sure i do it correctly

can i install windows 7 with both card plugged in my comp or i should do i like that

1-install windows 7
2-install nvidia driver
3-install sli patch
4-and then reboot and plug the second card

ok just finished to install windows 7 x64 but still no luck

i can see in the boot menu windows 7 x64 sli enable ,
-i choose it
-i see the windows loading page
-but after it cant finish the boot windows startup repair appears,take couple min and tell me to restart to see if problem still there but same thing everytime startup repair start just after windows loading screen


i have been able to boot in the normal windows 7 with both card plugged


again what i did to see my error

1-installed windows 7 x64
2-installed nvidia driver 257.21
3-disable UAC
4-installed sli patch 0.8b
5-installed the second video card
6-reboot and choose windows 7 x64 sli enable

7-windows startup repair start everytime

someone know my problem any help will be very apreciated

did you have UAC disabled?
did you install with administrator?
did you install from cmd.exe or windows explorer?

my account have administrator


but i installed it from windows explorer as i dont know how to really use the cmd

i was thinking both method were the same i supose this it my problem

very strange problem. first of all there are some people who has sli-compatible mobos and they got black screen and so on. and also there are some people who has no problem at all with patch and latest drivers. for example johnspack.
it's hard to say it's the patch problem. and hard to say it's driver problem

With Google, I didn't find anybody with same problem but SLI official motherboard. For me, it sounds like Nvidia change something which has an impact on SLIPatch... I hope I made a mistake and it's a general bug and Nvidia will solve it... Or nvidia did it to stop slipatch and you will find some workaround...

Got my Zotac 480 AMP! and PNY 480.
Put those monsters into my rig with pre-installed sli-patch and 258.96 drivers - was able to boot, wasn't able to run any 3d-apps. Got black screen/freezing.
Reinstalled everything and got 257.15 drivers - works. Got only one driver crash in metro while playing with visual settings, but I had some problem with my 5870 x2 setup, so that's not a concern.

Here's my rig :
GTX 480 AMP! + PNY GTX 480
Foxconn BlackOps x 48 mobo
Q9550 @ 3.73
6gb ddr3 1600 patriot
a really "meh" hdd.
Corsair TX 850W PSU
Windows 7 x64 ultimate

so right now I'm praing on anatolymik to make the amazing hack.
Otherwise I'll have to get a 1090t and a ASUS M4N98TD EVO mobo...and say 'bye-bye" to Asus 3d vision bundle ( and I reeeaaaally wanted this bundle..especially since starcraft 2 and mafia 2 are comming up)

Running two GTX 470s with my current MSI 790FX-GD70 quadfire board, using 258.96 and 0.8 beta win x64. I usually get blank screen 5 minutes into gameplay, Is there any way I can help this project with my current pc? Just say what I can do if anything at all.

ok i used the cmd to install the patch and now i can boot and i see sli option in nvidia control panel thanks ! for your help


i only been able to do some test with 3d mark 06 and its weird i only get 600 more points with sli enable

result in 3d mark 06


normal

sm2.0 score : 6160
hdr/sm3.0 score : 7123
cpu score : 2760

sli enable

3dmark score : 14 326
sm2.0 score : 6028
hdr/sm3.0 score : 8150
cpu score : 2747

should i try another program to test or maybe my sli is not activated correctly because this is not a big gain in performance

Hello.

I am running Windows 7 x64, 2 x EVGA GTX 460 1GB with 258.96 drivers on a GA-EP45-UD3P. After a while with SLI enabled my monitor goes black and becomes unresponsive, it has also crashed on me.

When booting into Windows 7 without SLI enabled everything works fine.

Good luck on getting the patch fixed, looking forward to it.

@Johnspack : Did you have something special on your system ????????? Any idea of something unusual on you system ? Are you fully sure than SLI is activated ?
