Never! Question everything. Never assume anything.

Having 2 rpm fans could hurt performance, but if you assume it doesn't, then you'll never know.

I agree, you should never assume anything until you have seen it for yourself.

Sure, even i don't understand how two fans running at different RPM's in a push-pull design could benefit cooling.

But who knows, maybe the rad benefits from that in some way... who knows.

The only thing I'm assuming is that Corsair has done extensive testing on various fan configurations and has found what is best for this particular cooler.
Maybe. Maybe not. (But probably though) I want to understand the reasoning behind the decision so I can make a judgement for myself. :)

two different fan speeds?

WTH?

IMO they have decided that a little extra noise is ok and they believe the neg air pressure zone between the two fans (the rad) is a good thing.

I have the H50 with two NF-12p fans in a push-pull configuration and i think it's the best set up i have ever had for cooling cpu.

Done a little testing.......(on a H50 with 2 x 120 mm Antec fans)

It seems to be a little bit quieter when turning down one of the fans RPM
(Push=1600 RPM - Pull=1400 RPM) and the same the other way around.....
And it dont influence the temp.....

Maybe that is why they have two diff. RPM´s ???

When I was researching mismatched fans for push pull, I read that you always put the stronger fan in the pull position (thats how I have my mixed fans setup now). When you think about it, if you have the stronger fan pushing into the weaker pull fan it can act like a bottleneck and actually impede airflow. At least thats how I have rationalized it

It always seemed natural to me that a faster fan should be in the back for a push pull because with the gaps on the side of an air cooler you know the air isn't being fed full force to the back... but for a rad that is closed on the sides you wouldn't have that air speed drop. So I don't quite get it here. Seems almost like you could ditch the push fan entirely and have the same performance if there's no gap between the pull fan and the rad.

The different fan speeds are probably set up to evenly balance the workload. The simple reason is that fans don't suck as well as they blow. The complicated reason is due to the angle difference between the airflow and the blade when running (for more info read a fluid mechanics text:D)

Wow, and I just bought my H50. Hopefully this won't fall into my price range/perform too well so I won't feel bad about buying too early.:ohwell:

Yea, the coolIT one looks kickass. I may put my H50 on one of my other rigs and get the new H70 or this CoolIt one.

EDIT: Looks like you can buy direct from them.

Fixed. There's also an Asetek LCLC unit you can find online that's similar to the NorthQ & 240 ALC.

smaller pump means slow pump.

MCP355 vs MCP655B google around and that tiny ass 355 kills the 655B hell the same size MCP650 (D4) still beats the 655B (D5 basic)

I dont get this....i'm a person who hates fan noise, i have a TRUE with a fan spinning at 1200RPM and its silent. My overclocked 930 idles @30-35 degrees load @55-60 degrees

Why would i want a cooler that performs about the same(in temps) but has 2 noisy 2000RPM+1600RPM fans? Even if this was 10 degrees cooler, the noise would be a deal breaker.

Then theres the extra hardware you have to find a spot for.....i like corsair but i dont see the benefit of this.

Nah, not at 4.4ghz but at 4ghz it does. 4 Ghz is my 24/7 clocks.

I've tested many fans and only the best are silent at 1200rpm. Once you get to 1600rpm its noisy then 2000rpm is just ridiculous.

I just dont see any advantage with this setup.

Yea, it'd be nice if we can buy this w/o any fans. I'd just slap 2 1450rpm GTs on there.

The H50 needed a quieter pump and better fans. By the looks of it I'm pretty sure it got neither but a pretty nice extra price premium.

I honestly don't understand why people go crazy about these allinone things since they're full of compromises and get beaten by almost any decent heatsink. Sure if you're space constrained its a decent option but otherwise...

D5s have a lot of empty space inside the shell. DDCs however are packed, hence the cooling mods.
Also, vario is better than B.

H-50/H-70 has its uses. Coolers that do better than these water coolers tend to not be very nice for your motherboard and also keep in mind that heatpipes suffer from degradation. Afaik the degradation is actually pretty severe. Not a problem if you update like every 2 months or something...

whats all the excitement about if it costs around £89 - £99 you might aswell invest in a water cooling loop and get better options and cooling all-round.

it defiantly looks different. I'm guessing there aren't any real improvements in real time situations. I just changed my 50 out for a megashadow. Its a nice piece but its not ass effective effective or less noisy than a heatsink
