Might have to pick up one of these for an upcoming media center pc build. Its going to depend of how much problem I have with my 5850 Ref. I just bought. I sure hope I don't have any problems with it, the ol' 9800GT needs to find another home.

The fanboys are strong on this one.:ohwell:.. calm down people.

Looks like a perfect low end card, i personally can't wait to see what the 6870 and 6970 look like. If a single 6970 or 6870 is as good as my currrent 470's in SLI, I'll be moving in that direction more likely. Nvidia's current cards are very powerful and if the 6 series can regulate on them, then more power to AMD for grabbing my wallet.:)

lol I hear that, it's a fairly massive amount of joy over a super low end card. I mean grats to AMD for having it ready this early and all, but its not yet time for hallelujah's

something more concrete in the way of specs is what I'm waiting for, even knowing their low end cards could pave way for more accurate specualtion on what the high end might pack.

Thank you sir. :)

That heatsink appears to have a small vapour-chamber.

It's a pleasure.

According to Chiphell/nApoleon said that whole HD6000 series seem to use the vapour-chamber cooling

cool and graphic card makers could save more money on excluding that on the low end:shadedshu:pimp:

Nice, I would like to see them use both vapour/heatpipes.

Since they fill the chamber with a small heat-pipe it only be a case of using some longer ones( and more than one) and you can get really great thermal performance.

Still Vapour chambers work great by them selfs : ]

I do not see ANY external power connector on the card. That would explain the passive cooling. Assuming the 6300 is a lower-end card?

Well 5300 and 4300 were low end so yeah I'd guess so.

Generally ATi cards are passive up to *insert digit here*500 cards and *insert digit here*600 cards get fans.

For an entry level card this is rather surprisingly powerful. For the past few years pretty much every AMD entry level card since the Radeon HD 2400PRO has been almost exactly the same, but this entry level card (the 6300 designation is almost certainly the lowest entry level possible other than IGPs or something) has a 128-bit bus, 650/800Mhz and GDDR3 I'd place this card somewhere between the Radeon HD 5550 and 5570 so about the same as the 9600 GSO I predict.

Yes entry level will become fast enough pretty soon, because Intel is will be kicking this cards out with Sandy Bridge GPU so beef up AMD want my 30€ GPU power for Linux.

Hey BazookaJoe I'll take that crappy, faulty 5850 off your hands! How about $50? Or since you love NV so much ill trade you a 9500GT straight up!

+1 lol, the only thing lower than this will be integrated gfx on AMD boards and laptops.

looks like it will take at least a 65xx card to play games even semi reasonably.
