Corsair Announces Gaming Series PSUs: GS600W, GS700W, and GS800W

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the Corsair Gaming Series Power Supplies. These PSUs are an ideal price-performance solution for building or upgrading a gaming PC.

The Gaming Series PSUs feature a single +12V rail, providing up to 65A of reliable, continuous power for multi-core gaming PCs with single or multiple graphics cards. The ultra-quiet, dual ball-bearing fan automatically adjusts its speed according to temperature, so it will never intrude on your music and games. Tri-color LEDs illuminate the transparent fan blades with blue, red, or white at your command; they can be turned off at the press of a button. (The GS600 features only blue LEDs). The entire family is 80 PLUS certified to deliver 80% efficiency or higher at normal load conditions, generating a minimal amount of excess heat.



"The matte black finish and illuminated fans make the Gaming Series PSUs the ideal complement for your gaming rig," stated Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of Components at Corsair. "Whether you choose the 600, 700, or 800 watt model, you'll have the clean, efficient power to create the best gaming PC - yours."

The Corsair Gaming Series GS800 is available for a suggested retail price of $119.99 (US). The GS700 and GS600 have suggested retail prices of $109.99 (US) and $99.99 (US), respectively. The Corsair Gaming Series power supplies will be available from Corsair-authorized storefronts worldwide.

A gaming PSU without modular leads? This is the lowest Corsair has gone yet. I would rather have a modular PSU than one with a LED-fan... And most cases nowadays are designed to have the PSU facing the bottom of the case, so it makes no sense.

These are pretty nice PSUs actually and you can turn the LEDs off if that is not your thing. We have had these at my work for over two months now so it is a bit weird to see a press release now.

I'm a gamer, and I happen to care about having useless wires with nowhere to go dangling around needlessly. I don't have a window in my case either.

Mussels, what's wrong with caring about the looks and tidiness of your system? When everything in my rig is clocked close to the brim of reason, where heat's a huge factor, the last thing I need is useless leads in my case, holding up hot air. The least to say, I hate having to fold them up and search for a cavity to tuck them away from cold air's way. If possible. And it not always is. Especially when I get to deal with the mid-tower cases of my friends and neighbors ... makes me love every bit of my own PC even more.

liking modular PSU's doesnt make you a gamer - its completely irrelevant.

liking modular PSU's is because you care about the looks, or hte cable management, or you're just anal when it comes to wiring... none of which make you a gamer.

this PSU is made for gamers - people who want to play GAMES, not to play 'hide the the wires so no one can see them!'
