Since X58 supports 3-Way SLI by default, I suppose this patch would also enable 3-way on older chipsets?

Trying to get the patch working on this 590i board, but no luck so far. When trying to load the sli-enabled partition, I get the message that ntoskrnp.exe is corrupt.

I would try to use win7 x64, that seemed to work the best, regarding bringing SLI to work....also, for me only 64 bit OSes worked, but im on a 790gx, so that may differ:)
newest Hack that just got a released a few posts ago should be able to work up until 260 driver

on my 790gx and old Intel 915(or something) only 7 x64 would work for SLI with the older patch. But i no longer have those setups to test with the new patch. All i have now is the X58

Got a problem that I think occours instead of the "random freeze/BSOD"; Picture will halt for several seconds while gaming, but continues working.

Had it with R3+0.8b+258.96 and Formula 1 2010 and 0.9a+260.63 with both BFBC2 and Formula 1 2010. Three times this morning.

I guess the interrupt is the probing code ?

I'm using EVGA Precision Tool 2.00, I'll test without it also.

Did you try with 0.9b+258.96?
What games behaves this way?
I think it's not the patch problem

I can test 258.96, but I'm "sure" the nvidia SLI mod crashing code is causing this, what you guys have localized and prevented from executing...it's like something else comes, the 2-4sec picture freeze. The games; F1 2010 and BFBC2. Ran 3DMVantage this morning, didn't see any probs.
I'll play L4D a while. 260.63 still

L4D 30+ mins OK, TrackMania also OK.

I don't have picture freeze everytime I play F1 2010 either. Sometimes I get two of them in a row...4sec freeze, continues to work say 5-10 seconds and another several seconds long freeze..and always continues to work. I haven't had this "ever".

BFBC2 runs DX10, F1 2010 runs DX9.

F1 2010 is what triggers this the most (maybe 6 times), I'll test disabling SLI ;)

(I see a change with 260.63 drivers: PhysX is defaulting to GPU #2, has always been GPU #1)

I remember Crysis have same problems in SLI mode. While in non-SLI mode everything was ok. Try old drivers. For example 197.15
SLI mode can have problems with games

Interesting. I'll try to run x64 and see what gives.

how did you installl?

I followed the instructions on the xdevs site.

Code:
1. Download proper tool version for your Windows OS in bottom of this guide.
2. Unpack it to some directory on harddrive. For Windows Vista or Windows 7 disable UAC.
3. Run command prompt with administrator rights ("Run" menu in Windows Start menu and type cmd there)
4. Go to directory with patch and run InstallSLI.cmd.
5. If everything ok, tool will report "SLI patch installed" and exit.
6. Reboot.
7. During boot there will be "extra OS" selection, marked "SLI enabled". This is one to use with SLI patch active.
8. Select SLI enabled system and boot it.
9. System should run SLI now, until BIOS or motherboard changed.

I'll go back to 0.8b and 257.15 for a week or so. Don't need the new 260 drivers, I know how to tweak SLI compability bits for 10-15% higher fps than nvidia SLI profile gives (for the only new game I care about now, Formula 1 2010), and 257.15 will do.

If I get these freezes then I'll explode ! :)

ehm, make it 0.9a + 257.15, since I belive the freeze comes from nvidia driver ;)

EDIT ///

PhysX
257.15 again, PhysX set to automatic selects GPU #1.
With 260.63, GPU#2 was selected for PhysX when automatic was set.
Which GPU is selected for everyone else on auto ? Which driver and problems?

I've just uninstalled 257 drivers + 0.8 patch, and installed 258.96 + 0.9.

All ran fine.

During this day, I'll test some games - CoD:MW2, BF:BC2, GRID and Bioshock 2. I'll post every news I'll get.

Thanks for your hard work!
