128bit & only 67.2GB/s for the 6870?
My 5750 does 74.2Gb/s what is it going to be for the 6850 50GB/s or less? :shadedshu

I think i may be better off buying another 5750 or 5770 & Crossfirex them

this happen on every new card when gpuz couldn't utilize..

looks like gpuz detected 128bit bus instead of 256bit .and cutted down bandwidth by half

Viewsonic puts AMD into a 3D world
First to have AMD Radeon 3D support

SCREEN MAKER Viewsonic is the first manufacturer to announce AMD Radeon 3D support, making the outfit the first to push AMD's 3D capabilities over Nvidia's.

For a while the Green Goblin had the nascent 3D market all to itself, but with the launch of the Radeon 6000 series of GPUs AMD added 3D capabilities to the Radeon line, including support for Blu-ray 3D through the added feature of Multiview Video Coding (MVC) in UVD3.

Now it seems that Viewsonic has taken the bait and released a product that uses AMD's technology. Its V3D241wm LED display ships with 3D capability using active shutter glasses.

The LED backlit monitor runs at 120Hz, which is what is needed to run 3D. Using the included 3D glasses, the V3D241wm LED screen can display 3D games and movies without any loss of quality by taking advantage of the monitor's 120Hz frame rate and ultra-fast 2ms response time.

The LED screen has a brightness level of 300 nits and a contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1, providing a high level of detail and colour reproduction. It also has full HD 1920x1080 resolution.

The stereo speakers are rated at four Watts and a USB port is included for plug-in of the included active-shutter glasses. The monitors come with HDMI, DVI and VGA connections.

Yup, I can see AMD sticking with 256-Bit, but what else can they do to make it faster than HD 6870, not much IMO, except for what I've posted I think.
My auto shotgun is calling me, back to Left 4 Dead 2 blowing away zombies...

1120 stream processors? I tought it would be more, like 1280 or something? Could there be some disabled SIMD on the 6870? Might there be a 6890 with all SIMDs enabled?

The 6750 was supposed to come with 280x4 SIMDs (1120) and the 6770 was supposed to come with 320x4 SIMDs (1280). I would of tought the 6850 and 6870 would of kept the same amount of SIMDs. Guess not! Tough luck I suppose.

its have new shader design, it will be more efficient, so maybe the 1120 will be more powerfull than 1600 shader in cypress

Looks like the MSRP on the 6850 is going to be $200 and $250-260 for the 5850

So if the performance is roughly for the 6850 = 5830, 6870 = 5850 this isn't interesting at all.

these spec won't worth price of $300+

just stuff more shader&clock higher with core and memory and expecting people to pay the same price high tag from previous gen? that is far worse than x1xxx era...if you want to pay for the card that is merely just higher clock you can pretty much just do it yourself by flashing the bios or use riva tuner. also if you look at how cypress perform on dx9/10 game you're pretty much know how bad cayman will be if the spec above come true....

any specualtion of cayman will end up like what they did to barts...all to be false(included me) i can only tell you this....people will still go and buy nV card than amd card. most of people don't want to contribute their money to save this planet....power efficiency? my ass!drop the price first amd! amd's card aint even worth its price range....

So if the performance is roughly for the 6850 = 5830, 6870 = 5850 this isn't interesting at all.

Remember the 6850/70 are Mid Range cards so if performance of the 6850 can beat or be the same as 5830 & be price at $200.xx or less , i'll buy one for sure

Now if you are looking for a card that would beat the 5850/5870 then you'll have to wait for the 6900 series which is coming out soon after the 6800 series
