thermaltake doesn't make any of your favourite psu's they rebrand someone elses. just cause you're hasen't blown up doesn't make them good. find out who actually makes them and which design they use then you can talk about what a good psu is. of course this is only mildly on topic, as this fugly pile of marketing wrapped around a pretty good cooler could perform very well. who's to say til you've put it through the paces against it's direct competition.

I have had that luxury;) Also to answer a previous question, it is better than the H70 in my tests.

no CWT makes it and its still a good PSU oddly enough just as good as several other manuf. one bad PSU doesn't make a company shit.

poor you for being pessimistic. Do you have one?

I do, and I tell ya, while the style may not be on point for everyone, there are a few things in this cooler that companies will be copying. Pretty odd for a manufacturer of crap to be setting the bar isn't it? Although I guess those who talk through the rear end really cant see what they are talking about now can they;)

I know shit gotta look pretty these days to be good lol. I do wounder by closing the sides of how much pressure it causing to remove the heat.

The original Frio cooler I saw the performance in person and it is on par with the Noctua and beats the TRUE. It will be interesting to see how this one compares.

I'm not sure what point you're making, but the H70 has a copper base so you get better heat transfer. And you're right, you can't really put it in the same class as a true water cooled system. Even so, you get much better heat transfer with water than evaporative cooling that air coolers rely on, so if an air cooler can beat even a baby water loop like the H70, it's still impressive in my book.

At what fan speeds? ;)
You can make a cooler perform better than a Noctua simply by slapping leaf blowers on them

I got the frio and i think it looks awesome, but this is ugly. The blue is just horrible. The simple black and white with red colour sceheme was great. The actual heatsink looks a lot like the Mega to me too. Hope this performs good :O

So i guess no one saw what a blatant copy of megahalems supershadow cooler this is. So it might be good, just not a genuine design from thermaltake. And that video, FOR GOD SAKE, even 15 years old kids with after effects could do better than that.

Theres some concerns I have with these new coolers (may not be this one in particular):
The fans on these are basically built onto the plastic shroud. What happens when they fail? You cant really grab another fan because theres a ton of modification to get it to even fit into the shroud and finding one of exact size can be a pain.

Direct touch heatpipes have been tested to show that they transfer heat better. Well why don't companies take that knowledge and move the heatpipes closer to the CPU? Some still leave 2-3mm which then would have to be sanded down to 1mm anyways for better cooling.

I'm looking forward to reviews on this. NH-D14 is still king, but it's also the size of a boulder. I'll reserve judgement until I see some competent reviews. For now, I'm skeptical.
