Cebit is a fancy show dude. If your product is in the pre-production phase and looks more like a terrorist bomb than a PC with wires and whatnot sticking out of it in every direction, then maybe it's not a good idea to show it off yet.

Really? I've never really followed Cebit at all ever, but if that is the case then I'm sad bear. I like wires. :(

First, people got way out or proportion on this. I am not sure about what was supposed to be shown, if anything was going to be shown at all.

Nobody from HQ (that I am aware of) was planning to do anything. If there were going to be some demos, that would have been the local team.

They stayed on house arrest inside with the said demonstration stuff and forgot they had to take them to the show for demonstration.

Serious note; If it's not ready to be shown, then so be it. Must have a good reason not to **points at fud article**.

Lesson for ya. The only one who said anything about you guys showing at CEBIT was ME.

Look what happens when you don't meet my weird expectations!

That is a pretty tall conclusion to jump to.

Well, showing stuff on CeBIt does not necesarily improve sales, and not going to it saves them money. ;)

And since it is hard to cast those "spells" (read: marketing buzzwords) like "LED" and "HD" over CPUs, marketing can only focus on energy consumption, performance and value, which it may be still to early for. Additionally, the fact that AMD is going to quit using names like Phenom, Athlon etc. might (I said, might) indicate that they not only wish to save costs (protecting names costs money), but also wish to distinguish themselves by implicitly (i.e. without literally saying it) stating that they can do without all the "buzzwords" and just wish to sell us stuff that does what it needs to and is priced attractively. And the OEMs get only impressed by other things than fancy names and such, while the usual consumers often aren't even aware of what's inside the box and should thus be regarded as somewhat indifferent to what the chip's being called. Down-to-earth thinking, that is something that can be appreciated, can't it?

Just my two cents
