Is it still compatible with new cards when it comes to stress testing/artifact scanning?
The driver didn't install in to my computer [win 7 64 bit ultimate] although I was still able to scan artifacts and such. The thing is, I flashed my 6950's to 6970's and I'm getting artifacts [not detected by the program, but the yellow is coming up]. I'm just wondering if it's a bug due to non-compatibility or are my cards fubar'd [There still is artifacting at 500Mhz :(, though it could be due to the increased memory clocks ]

AFAIK, yes it still works for new cards, i use both ATI TOOL and Furmark to test for artifacts.. followed by hours of gaming.

i would not have flashed them to 6970s, i would only have unlocked the extra cores.... apparently the ram can die very easily.

try downclocking the ram to stock 6950 speeds, see if that solves the problem.
GPU speed stock as well.

if that dosn't solve the problem, reflash the cards with the old bios.

The thing is, I have WinFlash and RBE but its saying I dont have an ATI card? It wont let me aquire the bios in the card, what do i do o_O?

?

why do you need to backup the 6970 bios? reflash the original bios.

also did you test the cards at stock 6950 speeds? both GPU and Mem.

I'm trying to back up the 2nd bios on the card, since there is two. It's the stock bios so I want to acquire it and put it back on the 1st bios chip so it looks oem. and yeah I tried the stock settings =\

EDIT: I tried ATiFlash but its saying wrong MS-DOS version when it asks for the location of COMMAND.COM =\ So i cant even use ATiFlash?

the 6950s have a backup bios?..... unless there is a switch on the card to boot from the 2nd bios, i doubt you can back it up....

you should have already created a backup before flashing the cards.... next best option is to loook for the bios at TPU... im sure someone has uploaded the bios for your cards. if its not listed, ask Wizzard to have a look for it.

I've tried that. AtiWinFlash doesnt find my card. I need to use ATiFlash in boot mode but the command.com isn't the correct MS-Dos version.

ATiTools does not work reliably on new cards.

do not use ATI_tool bad things can happen
afaik atitool should be pulled from tpu or labeled so people know not to use it on newer cards

That happens on any 6970. There is nothing wrong with your card.

I use GPUTool to scan for artifacts. It's a bit more stressful and puts a realistic load on the card. Unlike Furmark or OCCT I'm not afraid to run gputool's artifact scanner for 20 minutes or so.
