NZXT made a big step into the PSU market with the HALE90 series of PSUs. With capacities ranging from 550W to 1000W these Gold efficiency units address the needs of every gamer that seeks for a strong, efficient and reliable PSU to feed his system. In today’s review we will test a HALE90 750W and see how it performs in our ultra tough tests.

Thanks for the excellent PSU reviews.

One area of criticism I have is that while the new 'cable lengths and connectors' diagram may look nicer than the list that you used to publish (for example: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/OCZ/ZX_1250W/2.html ) they are not, IMO, as clear as those lists used to be. Maybe I am bad at reading diagrams, but I don't know what the cable lengths of the NZXT Hale90 are and I would if you had posted a simple list.

Another great PSU review as usual. Someone above me requested a seasonic x series to be reviewed, I am sure that would be great and all, but wouldnt it be slightly simliar to this review? Anyways my point is, how about a OEM that wasnt mentioned (i agree that super flower is amazing, ive had many of their TS series, as well as PCP&C before OCZ bought them out)

anyways, what about the enermax modu87+ 800w? or 700w? There are some reviews out there that claim they are the most efficent ever made, and isnt enermax its own oem and doesnt provide for anyone else? and right now the 800w can be had for 139.99 after rebate on newegg, there is a chance right now that it could be the best psu to buy on the market for price and performance, and I have heard that these units are severererererererly underrated in their power, anandtech as the 700w putting out 1014w and 92A on the 12v as its peak, I think you would enjoy testing them actually.

p.s. I dont work for enermax, even though my post seemed like it. I am building a new system and its the psu i am looking at the most, and well, I trust TPU more than any other site out there, would love to see them test it.

Enermax units are of high quality of course. In the near future I will review one, however not the small 700-800W units but a significant stronger one.

By the way Lepa G700 is exactly the same with Modu87+ 700W but it costs much less.

A review of G700 can be found here.

In addition to LEPA, Sapphires FirePSUs are relabeled Enermax units. The ABS SL 1050W is (was? not sure if it sells any longer) an Enermax Revolution85+ 1050W unit. So they do sell under other brands, just not very often.

Yes, but I don't think they are that clear.

When I started writing this post I was confused as to whether the vertical lines were to be interpreted as indicators of how long the cables were, but now I'm pretty sure they are intended to help make it clear that up to that point is 40cm or 60cm, etc.

Before this realisation I had three lines to contend with. Now that I only have one I am still not that happy, because if I look at, for instance, the ATX 20+4 pin cable it ends about three quarters of the way between 40cm and 60cm. So I would have to 'guestimate' that that cable was 55cm long, which could be wrong and I'd prefer not to have to estimate.

Can I ask why these reviews (three of them are for the 850W version) show the ATX12/EPS12V cable being between 70 and 72cm long, while crmaris's seems to show that cable only being ~55cm long?

A nice overclocker PSU, and it even looks nice. Would go nicely with that white Corsair case that was also reviewed this week :D

It's 72 cm for the 750W too, apparently I missed it in the scheme :)

I have this exact PSU and I have it in the White NZXT Phantom. I haven't had any troubles out of it and surprisingly it is performing a bit better than my old Corsair TX 650W. I did notice that in Europe with the 240V plug ins, it has better 90% gold efficiency across the 20 50 and 80% loads than here in the US. The cables are good and I love the solid fit onto the modular plugs on the power supply. Great review CMARIS!
