Sorry for the noob question here, but would the higher TDP of the 8130 effect the overclocking capability in any way.

Do you think we could get higher clocks than the 8110?

The higher TDP most likely means that the chip is running at a higher frequency at slightly higher voltage. Since it is already clocked higher than the other chips in the lineup it probablly does decrease overclocking headroom a bit, but that is yet to be seen.

I was thinking of going with the 6 core. I don't really need them for anything, but just in case game developers pull their head out of their asses and start taking advantage of the hardware they're given, they would be nice to have.

So far this week we've seen pricing without any basis, performance without any basis, and heard everything from "it's god on silicon" to "it's dog crap on a cracker."

Anyone else tired of unsubstantiated rumors and "facts" coming from no-name asian blogs that have about as much credit as a company filing chapter 11 in the US (sorry, I don't know international equivalents)?

The end of this month will introduce bulldozer officially, in time to speak against the sandybridge enthusiast level chips (socket 2011 at computex). Maybe waiting the, barely, two weeks won't kill you; I don't believe in boogey men (with the exception of hockey players), and these rumors will evaporate in two weeks.

Can both sides' fanboys please sit quietly for just a little while longer. We'll have proof either way, without faked magical numbers, soon enough.

I'm liking that FX-6110 too,though I might wait until October for Bulldozer Enhanced.
My X6 1090T still runs quite well.

Was thinking of the top of the line one being 320USD. That's just under £200 where I am which is relatively cheap for something that's meant to compete with 2600K and 970* which cost a fair bit more.

*well.. according to rumors of course.. who knows..

EDIT: Last time AMD had FX processors they also cost a fair bit more than that from what I recall.

Huh this cant be right, i remember seeing a post here a few weeks back (if i can find it now) that showed that the lowest 4 core bulldozer CPU to be priced at $300ish and the 8 core to be $700 and above and im sure this was from AMD its self??? (im looking for it now)

I know what chart you're talking about but those were system prices. Meaning you could build the whole system, along with the CPU, for those prices.

im prayin their right and that the A8x4cored husky (K10 core with gpu i think) is getting mixed up in benches with the fx 8's and hence im hopein for some actual jaw dropage at some soon point

FX-4110 is not a quad core procossor. It's a dual module. Do you really think that will compete with a native quad like sandy? I doubt that will compete with my Lynnfield that I paid about what FX-4110 is rumored to cost.
