HOWTO: Enabling DNF cheats without first finishing the game

Pissed off that you just spent hours playing Duke Nukem Forever finishing the game on easy just to find that it didn't unlock the cheats? Don't wanna play it all over again?

Here's how to unlock all chapters and cheats without having to play or replay the game first:

- Run the Steam client
- Disable Steam Cloud and quit Steam
- Extract progress.ini and put it in this folder: \Steam\userdata\<UserID>\57900\remote
- Run Steam. Enable Steam Cloud if you want to. It works either way
- Go to the Extras menu and enjoy your new bonus items

EDIT: This applies to single player only.

That's a matter of opinion. If you don't want to use it, no one's forcing you.

I know that I could have done with them at certain times when the game was anything but easy and it was pissing me off no end - and they are fun anyway. I can't be bothered to replay it now with the cheats enabled. It'll feel like watching a movie for the second time.

Games are meant to be enjoyed, if using cheats in a single player game makes the game more enjoyable to the person playing it, then that is a good thing.

Online cheaters are the lowest form of gamer.
Much worse than stupid kids who just go around crashing or spawn campers.

You can unlock cheats in this game?
Do you need to play the game at a certain difficulty to unlock the cheats?

normal difficult or higher
you get all the cheats as a reward. along with the look at the games development etc. with screenshots of the game during development and of course a timeline of DNF

Single player was implied in the wording, but I'll edit my OP to make it completely clear.

Yeah, cheating in multiplayer is lower than low :nutkick:

and I would never post a cheat to enable that.

So I thought that Valve games were protected by their VAC system from this? Seems the system isn't so hot, is it? :rolleyes:

I wouldn't bother playing on a particular server if I knew cheaters were on there. It's a guarantee of frustration.

Yee I joined in, it was fine and then a few rounds in there were these ninjas that would insta kill you, and there were these turrets. It was messed. and Yee TPU is a drug.

no system is infallible. i've played on many VAC-enabled servers that still manage to allow aimbotters through.
