enchanted body ink :rockout:

This would have been a great idea for the face paint instead of having a permanent random design.

Like having certain face paint gives the wearer more intimidation or something.
And specific deigns used with a specially made paint will increase certain abilities.

Skyrim First Western-Made Game to Score Perfectly in Japan's Famitsu

http://www.1up.com/news/skyrim-western-made-game-score-perfectly

This week's issue of Japan's Famitsu magazine features a major first worth noting, especially if you're interested in how Western-developed games are seen and treated over there. For the first time in the mag's 25-year history, a Western-developed game -- Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- has notched a perfect 40/40 review score, only the seventeenth game to do so.

"The overwhelming detail packed into the game really pulls you in," Famitsu assistant editor Norihiro Fujiwara wrote in his review. "From the music to the story and setting, everything is excellently done -- the main story isn't all that long, but there's an extremely large selection of subquests. Even the area around the first village you visit is packed with just a shocking amount of detail and volume. It's just pure fun to adventure around the vast world while pondering over which skills to acquire. It may be tough for light users to get hands-on with some aspects of it, but the gameplay system -- a mix of Oblivion and Fallout -- is overall easy to get to grips with."

The perfect score is a first for a non-Japan-made title, although several Western games have missed the mark by a single point in recent years, including Grand Theft Auto IV, Gears of War 3, and (most recently) Modern Warfare 3 and EA's FIFA 12. It places Skyrim in the same rarefied position in Famitsu's review annals as Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid 4, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and...er, Nintendogs.

The review text is all the more interesting to read considering that Square Enix's Final Fantasy series, long seen as the standard-bearer of Japanese RPGs, is increasingly seen as having grown rudderless in recent years. "Right now, I'd say this is at the top of the heap for singleplayer console RPGs," declared review-writer Ranbu Yoshida. "The sense of realism and freedom in this title goes far beyond the previous one. Exploring new lands and dungeons, as well as taking advantage of new skills to raise your character, is so fun that you really lose track of time."

"Skyrim is definitely my pick for this week," chimed in fellow editor Jigoro Ashida. "The sheer amount of freedom might bewilder some people, but the way you have to feel blindly around at the start is exactly what makes the discovery, growth and accomplishment you experience -- the core of any decent adventure -- so exciting. The action isn't that terribly frenetic, either, so I'd say it's a lot more approachable than you might think at first. Even if you're new to the series, you should absolutely check it out."

Just found out you can make and enchant a staff, but only in one place and with very specific enchantments.

depends on the system

11 tends to be the max stable but some have gone as high as 13 - 15

highest ive had load is 15 but its hit or miss. but for actual game playing and stability 11 is about as high as you can reliably go. with 9 being the sweet spot with 2gb vram gpus,

essentially
5 default
7 optimized
9 best ratio of visual improvement to stability,
11 max in terms of maintaining stability really hinges on system hardware.
13 max the game will normally load.
15 is possible but not stable, only way i can think of this being stable is to load it on an SSD raid 0 array, or in a virtual Ram Drive, where the entire game can be loaded within 1 second, to keep the game engine fed, it also requires massive amounts of CPU resources which being limited to 2 cores severely hampers, requires extreme clock speeds. 5ghz + on sandybridge even then your looking at sub 20fps, if it loads.

Skyrim Skill Perks By Delta6326 V2 Is Up!

Ok I just finished my project!!:rockout: I wanted to make a nice and easy document of all the Skill's and perks. It has the perk codes, what level you need to use and much more enjoy!

I have 2 versions 1 is a simple printer friendly pdf version and the other is a little bit fancier pdf.

You can edit these as you like I just ask you to keep the headers that say my name "Delta6326" and if someone asks you who made it tell them I did. Please and Thank You!

Techpowerup doesn't allow me to upload PDf's over 195.3 KB:eek:. So I put both of the files in a ZIP so I can upload it.

If you find any errors please send me a PM!:banghead:

I'm not too sure.....
Since I have made my character a spellsword, which predominantly uses destruction spells as well as weapons, I have found the Ice spikes to be not very effective unless I enchant my armour to enhance destruction spell damage.
It takes my character quite a while to lose magica and little time to regen magica due to enchantments and the way I have leveled up my character which is based mainly on stamina and magica.

Destruction magic is powerful on it's own, but it's not very useful if you're multi-classing imo. I've only increased MP every time I leveled and I get all the destruction perks so I don't run out of MP too easy and I make sure to get all the magicka regeneration buffs so it comes back fast (+100% on robe, +40% on ring). I can take down a giant by just spamming dual-casted firebolts (impact perk is essential) and I don't run out of MP completely.

edit: Now if you were to only get some of the destruction perks, not increase your MP much, and not have much (or any) MP regen buffs, then you'd run out of MP way too fast and you wouldn't be able to use the good spells much (if at all).

edit2: Granted, I can pull out a physical weapon without any perks for it and do OK damage, but then I risk getting killed in just a couple hits from a lowly bandit instead of letting my companion take all the damage for me.

I am just thinking that even with the perks, the underlying problem is that Spell's don't really scale. Aside from perks, your Flame at Destruction level 20 does the same as at 100. I think it should gain something like 1% damage per level in Destruction at least. I noticed they basically make it so all the enchants\abilities deal with giving you better mana efficiency, and there are very few that give you additional damage. I am doing a Battle Mage-style character with Destro\One-Handed weapons, and my character just feels weak. It might just be that for Magic to be effective you really have to go all in, but I definitely don't like a lack of scaling.

That's because Flame is a low-level spell. You need to purchase the higher-level spells.

edit: That's like if I complained an iron dagger didn't do much compared to my fireball spell.

My character is at a MP regen stage (w/enchantments) that it can regen enough to constantly fire one ice spike without waiting.

Still this is not enough to compete with weapons though.

But then again I have encountered a gang of spellswords in Skyrim who absolutely sucked.
By the time you rocked on up to them to give them a bash, they have a hand in the air to cast iron shield or whatever it's called.

I've been casting up ebony alteration armour mainly to level up as I am over level 50 besides being able to stand there and take all they have to give until I decide to smash them with a mace.

I'm pretty happy w/ my dest spell/mace combo, mace seems to do a bit more damage then magic. Magic is the midrange attack tho, distance use bow, mid range magic, close range mace.
I agree I wouldn't mind seeing spells effeciveness go up as your skill doesl, just like the damage weapons do go up as your skill goes up.
Once I hit 100 on dest and onehanded tho will prob switch to warhammer so I can continue to lvl.

That's because Flame is a low-level spell. You need to purchase the higher-level spells.

edit: That's like if I complained an iron dagger didn't do much compared to my fireball spell.

When I calculated the dps, given the cast time of say--Firebolt--Flame was still better dps. I was more speaking to the fact that getting higher levels of Destruction only awards you access to perks--which are largely mana reduction anyway--and access to a few new spells--most of which I haven't found terribley effective anyway. I was speaking more to the fact that, while you can craft new armor and weapons and improve ones that you have, there really is no such balance for Spells.

I do agree there is room for improvement and spell damage should go up with skill level, but I was mainly pointing out that you can still be effective with the way it currently is.

Thats just tweaks for the FXAA Injector, which is nice, but you can toy with all of those settings yourself and set them how you like, I personally toned down the blueness a lot. If you really want something that comes from just color tweaks, check this out.
