Back in March, 2009, the industry lost ABIT as a consumer motherboard vendor, as it announced its exit. ABIT had been a reputable vendor of high-end PC motherboards. The company stayed on as a shell to complete honoring warranties, with its website on a little longer, to help with drivers, BIOS, and product manual downloads, among other things. It appears now that the clock for the website has also run out. A notice on the start page of the website says that the website will go offline on the 28th February, 2012. If you have an ABIT product, it would be a good idea to download PDF files of its manuals, a copy of its BIOS (if applicable), and drives, before the website goes down for good.

Well in DFI's case they just appear to have dropped of the past couple years (3 x58 mobo's and a single S1156 P55 mobo), ABIT apparently had a ton of issues with embezzlement and got hit really hard by a class-action for selling products with faulty capacitors. Sad really.

R.I.P Abit. At least you gave us soft menu and jumper-less configuration.
And some awesome over clocking boards.

Oh and the BP6 !

I threw out my NF7-S the other day.

It was a great board just didn't need it any more.
Has no spare DDR.

It was in my file server for a while until I got an atom.

I bought quite a few of their products and was gutted when they went down. I did also look at their website for those nostalgic moments. 28th Feb will be a sad day.

I remember when I first started on pc's if you could get DFI, ABIT, Shuttle, or Soyo those were all great mobo mfg's. I did not even realize DFI stopped until you posted that. It is a shame.

WoW, First of R.I.P. Abit.
I Must say .. it is sad to see Abit go. I am 100% sure they are the reason I became A PC enthusiast. My Frist Super Computer was built off the Abit IC7 MAX 3. This board was So far ahead of its time. I spent so much money on this comp, and it even lead me down the path to buy my First Intel EE. I think in all I went threw 4-5 CPUs on this motherboard trying too Crush 3dmark. But after much saving I ending up with A 478 extreme edition "northwood core" .. life was grate all my friends wanted my comp .. "it had some gaudy ass UV colors and blacklights in it"

Man them were the good old days where all my money went too my comp... I kind of miss that, however I was still A virgin and thought comps were the best thing in the world (I was wrong, use your money on "BETTER THINGS")

Anyhow... RIP Abit.

I'm still using an Abit Airpace pcie 1.0 wireless Lan card. It was well regarded as the best wireless G pcie card for the price in its day. But I've never owned any Abit boards.
