yep I am in the same boat ... I like tinkering with my systems a lot. But that price is just teasing me lol.

Just not sure how well I would adjust since I am use to I7's in my main rig and my laptop. :confused:

I had bought it for my daughter so she could use it for browsing, Office, graphics design, audio (iTunes and Garage Band), etc, but the wifey said no before I could give it to her. With the upgrade to Lion, it should be fully compliant with today's web and stuff, but Lion will probably be the last upgrade it can take. I think C2D's were dropped in Mountian Lion.

Since I know nothing about how their OS's work ... what happens when they update to a newer version? will it become unusable or what? Can you load any other web browsers besides safari? EX: Firefox or Google?

Really all I would use it for would be video editing (sometimes) mainly typing out reports and surfing the web ...

I might be able to help. You can load any browser except IE for obvious reasons(damn M$), all the browser plugins work too. As of updates if your just doing the OS software updates then it will stay within the family/animal of when you purchased it, Ex: Snow Leopard is 10.6 and as of right now 10.6.8 is the most recent software update for it.

Lion is pretty cool cause once you update to it and say later down the road you need to restore/reinstall OS X Lion it can download and install your OS over icloud after you have provided the system s/n. I love watching the mac mini's we sell do it!!!

About the only PITA is it gets its Java update through System Software update so it's always behind, not a big deal to most but it is to some.
