Anyone else looking forward to this game?

If you don't know about it then it's pretty much a giant strategy conquer game. There is a Beta out now that are introducing the factions with each iteration.
One thing I will say though that when it gets to the end game it can cripple your computer to a crawl (think Supreme Commander slow). So that is a bit unfortunate. Anyway here are some screen captures from the main site

No game play but if you hit up a couple of videos you'll see what it's like.

You travel, build a fleet, conquer planets, build a bigger fleet, gain resources, research technology, build a bigger fleet, then go knock the other guy into oblivion. I have found them to be huge time sinks but a certain amount of fun.

If you preorder the Rebellion, and you have the previous game with the microexpanisions, just log in to apply a $10 discount. You will also get immediate access to the Beta.

I believe there are only two expansions, Entrenchment and Diplomacy.
I have SoaSE and Entrenchment, but never got Diplomacy.

There is a good SoaSE Wiki if anyone wants to read up on it.

The game is definitely one of the best 4X real-time space strategies ever made.

GalCiv and GalCiv II were excellent (developed and pub'd by Stardock)
SoaSE (developed by IronClad in concert with Stardock, and pub'd by Stardock) was spectacular.
Then Stardock release Elemental War of Magic which was a disaster. lol

yep with the maelstrom mod, sins is probably one of the best games period to me, and diplomacy is pretty much the best expansion.

Sh!t. I am very sorry, but I completely made a mistake.

If you already own Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, you can log in and get a $10 discount on the new game, Rebellion.

I am very sorry about that mistake, I will am mend the OP right away.

Is Rebellion an expansion pack or a sequel?
I have the Sins of a Solar Empire without any of the expansion packs. Maybe I'm gonna have to pick them up and get ready for a rebellion!

Yea think Forged Alliance in Supreme Commander. It's a stand alone game, and you don't need the originals to play it. But if you do have the originals then you have an advantage because you already know the strengths and weaknesses of the units available to each race.
