Calling a $749.99 or $799.99 MSRP, with performance being just below GTX680 SLi setups. They are either going to have to do 2GB per GPU or 4GB per GPU, if it's the latter, expect a higher price, but lower amounts of VRAM didn't really seem to hinder performance of the GTX680, even at 2560 resolutions...

If this is going to have 4GB of vram (2 per GPU) then I'm going to call this a fail even before it's launched.

If I am going to buy a GTX 690 (or two) it means I want to play at least on 2560x1600p and 2GB per GPU is not enough, probably Nvidia will cheap on Vram and Vrm like on the GTX 590, screwing high res gaming and overclocking.

Don't get me wrong, I like Nvidia but I can't really undestand why they miss on such critical points.

You have been fooled by high numbers.

Or read the Eyefinity reviews against the 7970 and realize that 2GB IS enough.

If this card uses two full blown GTX 680, no question at all, it will be the fastest graphic card on the planet even after 7990 gets to see the sun.

And since probably 7990 will have cut down 7970 then, you know...

What's strange for me is the fact that 7970 is in healty supply worlwide and amd will arrive to the dual gpu party later than nvidia who can't supply enough GTX 680.....seems pretty weird to me, it's like amd working on something, a surprise. Maybe.

There are no reviews with 3x30", I am more interested about that because a single 690 or 7990 is probably fine for surround 5870x1080p but if we talk about dual 7990 or dual 690(which is overkill for 5870x1080p) I think that 2GB is going to be a bottleneck on let's say 7680x1600

I'm not sure about that tho.

I think there are so few people using thast resolution, that Nvidia is justified in not really caring.

Exactly. ^^

Nvidia conceeded those 5 people that game on such a setup. :p

While I agree I think it would be nice to think of Tri/Quad GPU setups outside of benching and the only possible utilization could be very high res gaming, which isn't easy to achieve anyway because driver optimization on more than two card is bleah to say the least.

So anyone who builds a rig that is too expensive to your eyes gets a generalization by you, making sound them unskilled ONLY because they spent a lot.

Gotta think that many people build extreme rigs for PASSION on hardware and not "e-peen".

Way to think buddy, your hate driven post seems more envy than anything else.

"Hate driven post" seems kind of harsh to call it that :p Besides, you'll have to agree that people who will be playing at that resolution won't really have any gaming advantage, thus probably not really concerned about their gaming skills.

Most likely 4GB (2GB per GPU) ...if it was 8GB (4GB per GPU), it'd be too expensive

Remember, ATI's 7990 is only 6GB

That doesn't mean nvidia can't make a 8GB card, it would most likely cost $1500 if they did, and nobody would shuffle that money out...well maybe a few socialites...

Sticking to my plan upgrading to a couple expensive KFA2s Hall of Fame editions featuring custom PCBs + cooling to last me 18 months than putting up with the stock coolers + low clocks with single pcb dual gpu.

Couldn't care less about more VRAM for a single display, 2GB is just the right amount as you'll run out of performance before memory. Additional VRAM will suit GK110s bandwidth but 28nm manufacturing won't ease until back end of 2012.

Is not hate, i feel sorry for those who are exalted to have the most expensive hardware to "' play ''... Just for watch some bench on a 22 inch screen.

But each one is free to spend the money as he wishes.

The way you stated that who spends a lot of money on hardware necessarily means that the subject is unskilled was without any sense, mate.

Anyway I expressed myself in a too harsh way, sorry.

I agree with you on the last bit, everyone is free to spend the money in whatever way it pleases.
