Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), the world's top 3 motherboard maker, has already announced its Z77 Golden Board OC Contest on HWBOT. Meanwhile, ECS is proud to announce its official partnership with HWBOT. "We would like to express our gratitude to ECS Elitegroup for the help in making HWBOT financially viable and enabling us to continue promoting overclocking and supporting its communities. With ECS Elitegroup's support, we have found extra motivation to make the site as pleasant as possible for the overclocking community! Thank you ECS Elitegroup!" quoted from HWBOT homepage.

ECS Z77 Nonstop OC Contest on HWBOT is sponsored by GeIL and Coolermaster for the top three winner prize. The top three winner teams can also get ECS Z77 Golden Board Limited Edition for prize! The Nonstop OC Contest is held until 15 July, consisting of four stages: SuperPI-32M, 3DMark11 IGP, Memory Clock and PCMark05. The top three participant teams with the highest scores can be the winners. HWBOT is a well-known OC platform for extreme overclockers and performance enthusiasts. It holds several overclocking competitions per year and is discussed on thousands of message boards, which can reach real overclockers, real records, and real interaction.

Exclusive Limited Edition of Z77 Golden Board for Overclockers
The Z77H2-AX and Z77H2-A2X models are already available worldwide. Each of these high-end Z77 Black Extreme Series - Golden Limited Edition motherboards is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity personally signed by the Director of Research and Development of ECS, emphasizing the company's determination to guarantee quality, performance and ultimate reliability to its customers.

For overclockers and modders, ECS' Golden Limited Edition provides a wealth of tweaking, control and adjustment features. Solid long-life capacitors in all critical areas guard against failure even in the most challenging conditions. Triple thickness gold plating on CPU, memory and add-on card sockets ensures these two models always provide a reliable connection, even with heavy use and in hostile environments. Thor Ultra Protection guards against component damage from static electricity in dry climates. And in a sea of lookalike products, the distinctive gold and black Z77H2-AX and Z77H2-A2X boards are undoubtedly the best-looking motherboards around. Both the Z77H2-AX and Z77H2-A2X models offer Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, USB 3.0 x6 and USB 2.0 x6 support, 3-way NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFireX support, EZ charger and 1 Gigabit LAN to boost stronger Internet connectivity functions and expansion ability to your computer.

Let's see, Asus, Gigabyte, ASRock, MSI, then maybe ECS...
That said, they do make a lot of OEM/ODM manufacturing as well, so if it's just in terms of pure output...
But as far as retail brand goes, not so much number three...

They're like foxconn and function as an OEM to an awful lot of people.

lol, where do you live?

@phanterx : yeah, but their products recently especially on those golden board look promising with fully potential for overclocking, i wish the price on retail market wont fly high and compete with other well known board makers such as asus, asrock, gigabyte, etc

i'm just realized those damn boards are limited edition

I can believe the factor that they are in that range do to like Panther says.. They've been doing OEM's for ages. It hasn't been till 1156 did they even think that they could produce a board good enough to main-stream.. Now, they have the boards that hold their own with the main people..

Saying "who is ECS?" is like saying "who is ASUS?" okay maybe not, but at least they're getting publicity out if this, so too their entrants. Plus their golden boards do look pretty badass..

ECS makes ASUS's GPUs, and possibly now will make all their boards instead of pegatron.

THey are a huge board maker, they might actually be the worlds third largest motherboard makers including OEMs/ODMs. I mean you have to realize that out of all the motherboard companies you see, GIGABYTE makes their own boards and brands under the GIGABYTE name, ASRock and ASUS have Pegatron make their boards(ASUS and pegatron used to be one company, and ASRock is now part of Pegatron, ASUS just sold its ~25% share of Pegatron very recently), MSI I believe uses foxconn, Foxconn uses Foxconn, ECS uses ECS, and ECS prob makes boards for some other vendors(Intel and EVGA possibly). So out of the board makers who actually make their boards and sell under their own name, in the list above there are 3. lol Which is kind of funny considering they all consider themselves motherboard manufacturers, but designing and marketing and selling the board is possibly over 50% of the manufacturing process so i guess they are manufacturers.

I'm not a geek so I don't know all the electronics companies in this world. Btw, they have 15K employees compared to 120K ASUS have for example. So forgive me if I didn't heard about them until now. Btw, I have yet to see a decent mobo review from they on any websites out there....
