Razer Gives Krait an Overhaul in 2013

Last week, Razer gave its iconic DeathAdder mouse an overhaul. The gaming peripherals giant has something similar planned for its 2006-launched Krait. Pictured below, the new and improved Krait will feature a retouched design, 6400 DPI 4G optical sensor with on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment, and of course, support for Razer Synapse 2.0 cloud configuration utility, which needs you to activate the mouse online to even begin using its feature-set. The improved Razer Krait is slated for 2013, when the company plans similar overhauls to its other old products.

The third picture or front of the mouse reminds me a bit of the corsair m60, which is a good thing, because I usually hate razer designs (and razer itself) with a passion.

Looks like Razer is taking a cue from Hollywood and just remaking/re-releasing their products. Lazy.

I find their recent mice very intriguing: the Taipan and the Ouroboros look amazing. This one here looks like a less than a $85 mouse, may be they try to capture a lower-priced segment, just a guess.

Looks like Razer is taking a cue from Hollywood and just remaking/re-releasing their products. Lazy.

Unless you reinvent the mouse its just re-releasing same designs with minor changes like number of side buttons etc

Just how do you propose to make a mouse look and function any different to any other mouse? It's a mouse. It's like asking to reinvent the wheel.

Of course there's only so much you can do with a mouse, but I'd love to see some new features besides higher DPI. The Naga (and Hex) added buttons for a popular genre of game, which is great. Mad Catz came out with the R.A.T. series mice which offer SO much customization, which I feel has been the most progressive feature in a long while.

I'm not saying I "know what it takes" to create the perfect mouse, but it would be nice to see some risks taken for progress. It might be asking a lot, but I'd rather see something new fail because it was trying to innovate than rehashed older product.

Well Razer does innovate (Synapse 2 anyone?). Krait is not known to be cutting edge and innovative when it was released, so continuing that tradition is not too bad.

I almost had a heart attack reading the title, being a Krait user since forever.
It's a pity that it's not the original design + rubber on the sides, but this might work since my mouse is showing its age.
