Cooler Master's gaming hardware brand CM Storm announced the Sirius S 5.1-channel gaming headset, a variant of the Sirius, which dates back to June 2011. While the original Sirius ships with a 5.1-channel USB sound card, and is priced around 120€, the new Sirius S maintains the headset's every component, except the USB sound card is tossed out for a simpler volume control pod, and 3.5 mm jacks (three lines-out and one mic-in), so you could take advantage of your own sound card. It's also likely that since sound cards with non-standard DSPs are highly prone to driver-related issues, and need constant maintenance from the manufacturers' side, Cooler Master is finding a smarter way out. The Sirius S is expected to be significantly cheaper than the original, when it reaches stores some time in February.

How can you have 5.1 sound in a 2 speaker headset is beyond my comprehension...And yes, I have tested some 5.1 headsets and no difference from a standard headset with surround sound via sound card.

Who said anything about 2 speakers?

I guest its just the same hardware and tech with other 5.1 headsets outhere. Possible comes from the same factory somewhere there in china. Just different frame and dressing than slap your own company logo and name it with something that sounds super badass and than sell it overpriced.

Hmm, so how much quality those tinny speakers can provide then?:ohwell:

See below↓↓↓

Although it's expensive, the Sirus 5.1 is our new favourite headset for true surround sound

http://www.kitguru.net/site-news/highlights2/zardon/cm-storm-sirus-5-1-headset-review/6/

The Legit Bottom Line: What more can I say? If there was ever a product that deserved an Editors' Choice Award this is it. Top notch quality and top notch sound

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1656/5/

The Sirus will appeal to anyone looking for a high end true 5.1 surround sound headset. Equally comfortable handing game audio, team speak or movies & music the Sirus offers high end performance for gamers or audiophiles

What is there to say about the CoolerMaster Storm Sirus 5.1 Gaming Headset other than WOW.

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/coolermaster_storm_sirius_review/5.htm

The Sirus does sound fantastic during gaming and movie sessions using the very well designed control station as a source over the analog option and it even sounds great when listening to a high quality music files or streaming a 1080p music track.

Gave them a 70%

I'm sure you'll find the inner strengh within you to take my advice. The on board Realtek ALC aint bad at all and far from limiting these kinds of shity headsets, with all the respect.
You can take this advice from a musician that likes to listen and make music.
I'ts just my opinion about them, as i am also using other headsets.

I doubted too and almost went a Corsair headset with large drivers. Went Sirus, been very happy. The sound quality is just phenomenal.

The trouble with Sirus is...you can't use the puck controller and your 5.1 sound setup together. Its either regular cable connection for 5.1 or using the Puck with it's USB sound card. The USB sound on the puck is a very basic m-audio setup. Looks like CM is addressing this which is good. But that new controller is ugly compared to the puck.

Then the other thing wrong with the sirus is with the cushions. You get two sets, one mesh and one a leathery thing. While that is all nice and awesome, to get them off is a pain. The first time I took mine off it cracked the little clasps which hold the frame for the cushions onto the headset. All you need is one cracking and its enough. Pretty soon it broke and then others cracked. I contacted CM and they sent free replacements. You can get by with just 2 clasps which I did till finally another broke and I had to use my replacements. Its a bad design flaw. The clasps and the frame would be much better in metal which has some give. The plastic is too weak and can't take stress being moved.
