Club 3D Announces Radeon HD 7790 '13Series Graphics Card

The HD 7790 compliments the HD7XXX series as a whole and features the all new 'Bonaire' GPU. This GPU boasts numerous advantages over existing products such as: 40% more stream processors and texture units than HD 7770 GHz edition, increased memory bandwidth when compared to both the HD 7750 and HD 7770 GHz edition thanks to a higher clock of 6000 MHz for the 1Gb GDDR5 memory. The GPU itself has a boost clock of an impressive 1030 MHz.

The HD 7790 offers incredible gaming performance considering its price point. It plays all recent DirecX11 titles flawless in Full HD 1080p resolution. It provides a quality experience and great overall playability.

that card seems to be 100% amd hd 7790 reference design, minus the fisher price shroud that's visible in amd marketing photos

5770/6770/6850/7850 and probably more to come and why not its a decent cooler for ~100w cards and better than a piece of al some of the non ref cards are using.

I wasn't bashing it, it cooled my two overclocked 6850s with ease. I think of it as a beefed-up Zalman vf900.

Also, that looks like the same cooler used on the reference 6850.

Dunno, aren't shrouds good because they help direct airflow? Even for semi-open shroud designs, it keeps air flowing across the PCB, and some of it out the exhaust vents, rather than just back to the general case airflow. Probably a minor difference, but I do think shrouds help.

btw check what xfx uses as heatsink on their 7850 XFX Core Edition FX-785A-CNL4 Radeon HD 7850 2GB 2... ... just a piece of al!! -bad xfx, bad.

Passive and low power maybe?

I think it'd be awesome to see someone make a smaller passive cooled version of this. If it can do with such a tiny cooler, i'm sure it can go passive. Turn down the voltage a bit on some binned chips and you could probably have a version that runs off of only the PCI-e slot.

It would be better in my situation where I have a fan on the side panel blowing directly on the video card, however I am too lazy to remove the shroud because I have to also remove the heat sink to do so which means reapplying paste etc.
