Logitech's popular gaming mouse, the G5, got a facelift and will be available immediately. The weight customizable distribution unit is still the same allowing you to tweak the handling properly. New are the 9! mappable buttons and a more accurate scroll wheel.
The price will be the same as before (around 75 Euros), so is the laser unit (2000dpi).

Figures they put the extra button back on.....I love my G5 its a great mouse, but having used an Intellimouse with side buttons on BOTH sides. It took me some time to get used to the button I had lost. Not too mention I never understood why they took away the 2nd button on the left side that the MX's had. I wouldnt also mind the "upgraded" wheel as I do think it could be stiffer as I do often end up with Side Scroll stuff happening when Im just after middle Clicks

OH and he reported that this one has a better polling rate, thats not new I have that as well, it was included with the latest Setpoint update.

I hope they do the same thing to the G7. If they do I will have to buy a third.

Even though I didn't really miss the missing side button, the sideways scrolls more than made up for it.

Ive used the razer, the g5 and g7 (dont own any of them, but used displayed ones in tech stores) and they all work very well. I like the G5 and Razer the best though..just from feel (asthetics) and control. G7 is nice as well, and barely notice a difference in the 3, IMO

Man, if I wasn't getting married soon, I'd take my money and get a laser mouse... I'm stuck with my opty right now, though...

I think the new G5 looks pretty sick, but in a way I want to keep the old "rusty" look of the G5, both look good though...

Hmm... haven't had a problem with mine, I'll have to look into that.
