Crucial expanded their line-up a short while ago at Computex by introducing the Ballistix Sport XT product for mainstream users and those who know how to tweak their memory. We take a look at the high-end 1866 MHz C10 model, which carry a few surprises.

Good review Cad!
My only suggestion would be to put the OC page before the Results, I was confused when I was reading the results, I was thinking I missed the OC page.

Decent ram but I really hope that they would go back to their ballistix elite levels of old. Crucial in my mind have been slacking on the memory front lately.

Don't forget they have worst Q/C and after sales support division in my experience. I had have burned my hand twice with Crucial rams, not worth spending a single penny on Crucial products. :banghead:

I know I will get flamed but with memory controller on die, the latest Intel CPU don't really need or gain much from OC ram . I rather push CPU oc and running high clocks with ram can give lower headroom with CPU OC .

I would OC ram last thing, but if it runs at faster speed ok, well its free , whatever small increase .

I have nothing but great things to say about them , never had a issue and their ram could clock like hell

Crucial is an awesome company. They're always one of the first with commercial availability of low-voltage RAM modules, which is what I use. Never had one of their sticks fail on me either (and I have a LOT of them), they're extremely reliable!

And like Ed_1 said, with the memory controller out of the way and integrated into the CPU, RAM speeds don't matter as much as they used to. IMHO it's better to focus on efficiency, lower prices etc. these days.

Yes , I always thought Crucial memory was reliable and good compatibility ,might not be fastest but they do have some good timings on lower speeds Cas8 @1600 .
Can never recall to much negative feedback on them being posted anywhere . I see more Corsair complaints but again with all HW its hard to put figures with forum reports .

PS , I am using now Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB kit , I just set to XMP and forgot about it , runs great
